Harry Potter won't kill PJO. The show will do it by itself

It's hard to believe it's been seven years since the fans rallied together for the hope of a great adaptation of PJO it deserves to be after the disappointing movies, only to reveal that we got a show just as bad as the movies, even doing things worse than the movies themselves and the worst part is how they divided the fanbase as we used to be together.

We shared favorite moments from the story, common hopes for something better than the movies and even the hope for animation but the show sadly drove a wedge into those who want animation even before it came out with Rick chosing live-action, which caused the fanbase to already divide and even fight about animation vs. live-action.

It's so sad and so depressing what this show did to the fanbase but also sad how it felt our efforts went down the toilet for a better adaptation we hoped for only to get slop and with the upcoming reboot of Harry Potter coming soon and the future of the show on thin ice, many say that Harry Potter will kill the show as despite PJO being an extremely successful book franchise worth millions, it has always been in the shadows of The Boy who Lived thanks to its enormous popularity as the books were successful, the movies were hits all while PJO git two bad movies and this sorry excuse for a show.

I personally disagree with that as I believe even with the Harry Potter show coming very soon, Harry Potter won't kill this show as this show will has only itself to blame if it gets canceled because if only it delivered on its promise of being a show more faithful than the movies and was actually fun and engaging instead of being an adult drama with kids that skipped out on the magic and action and maybe even animated so it can stick out instead of blending in with all the other generic live-action garbage flooding streaming platforms, maybe the fans and new viewers would've stuck around and as the new season made things worse with not improving on the original product, it's no wonder the ratings of this show are plummeting and Disney is treating the show doesn't exist.

To sum it up, the Harry Potter show will definitely draw in more viewers than PJO but it won't necessarily kill the show as thanks to it's bad decisions, this show will be killed off either way, even if a Harry Potter rehash wouldn't exist.

Was PJO that important to Rick?

It's hard to believe it's been seven years since the fans rallied together for the hope of a great adaptation of PJO and Rick joined alongside us, believing in the fight to have PJO be the ideal adaptation it deserves after the disappointing movies, only to reveal that even with him behind it, we got a show just as bad as the movies, even doing things worse than the movies themselves and the worst part is how they divided the fanbase as we used to be together.

We shared favorite moments from the story, common hopes for something better than the movies and even the hope for animation but the show sadly drove a wedge into those who want animation even before it came out with Rick chosing live-action, which caused the fanbase to already divide and even fight about animation vs. live-action.

It's so sad and so depressing what this show did to the fanbase and even more sad is how Rick hated the movies for changing his story but only doing the same things and with that, I got to ask, was PJO that important for Rick?

It may not be Harry Potter but even though it has garnered a huge fanbase that him go from humble English teacher to a multi-millionaire, were the books ever that important or was it just a side-hustle that made rich?

How can Rick not feel bad about the damage this show has cause

This troubles me so much because we cannot deny that this show has done a lot of damage to the fanbase as back then, the PJO fans were all united together, shared fanart and equal love for the story while presenting equal hate for the movies and the thought Rick, as the author understood us but that image has been shattered as this show has left nothing but division that turned fans into bitter enemies, even before the show came out with his comments on animation.

Because of that, how come Rick doesn't feel bad for what this show did to the fans? In fact, was Percy Jackson that important to him to begin with?

No Secrets: Once Upon (Another) Dream

For those who owned the DisneyMania CDs, here is a track from DisneyMania 2, which is a remixed pop version of Once Upon a Dream by the girl band No Secrets

Now that Matt Braly's movie got picked up by another studio, this is Sony right now

In this case, Sony is Mr. Krabs while the execs at Sony Pictures Animation who canceled the movie are SpongeBob

Given the similarities between their story arcs, how do you think The Beast (aka Adam) and Kuzco would get along?

I can imagine it would, as per usual, adversarial given how tragic and troubled The Beast was and would probably see Kuzco as annoying but I can imagine they'll understand one another and realize how their transformations taught them something, even if the difference was how for Beast, it was an enchantress teaching the spoiled prince a lesson while Kuzco got his from a dumb as rocks henchman!

Disneyland frequency

I've seen and heard from many people who often go to the Disney parks many times as some go from once or even six times a year and the same applies to cruises as well.

In my case, my family and I to Disneyland once a year and given how I live in the American Southwest, it's not difficult as due to how we can drive there for a short time, a plane isn't necessary and we always stay at a Good Neighbor Hotel, thus making Disneyland pretty cheap!

What about you guys? How frequent do you guys to the parks?

What are episodes of cartoons that leave you with more questions than answers?

Best Frenemies from SpongeBob is one of them because while it was fun seeing Mr. Krabs and Plankton put aside their differences to find out about Kelp Shakes, what left me wondering is who was selling and making them, especially as shops literally multiplied on their own? Are they sentient? Who is even running them?

I don't get why we need an LA Tangled when we already have one called How To Deal!

Joking aside, it's crazy how Mandy's haircut is exactly the same as her character Rapunzel's when Eugene chops it off while Trent Ford looks just like Eugene but without the goatee!

As we have one year left until Beyond, which is seen as the finale of the Spider-Verse movies (with exception of the Spider-Woman and Spider-Punk movies coming up), I wanna discuss a rather unexpected way that made the Spider-Verse movies special to me and that would be filling a void left by animated superhero show that disappointed me.

Before I was a big fan of Spider-Verse, I was a fan of Young Justice (which happens to be created by Greg Weisman, the same man behind Spectacular Spider-Man) and like many other fans, I was devastated when Cartoon Network canceled it and I, and many others, not wanting this beloved show to end prematurely, joined on the campaign to save the show by binge‐watching the show up the wazoo and after so much of it, the show got saved.

However, this is was a clear and present case of be careful what you wish for as when the highly anticipated season 3 came about, it was not the same show as everything about changed for the worst as it went through a huge time skip where a good chunk of characters left while many of the old ones went through some rather unnecessary and often poorly-written changes. They added in many new characters that were pretty bad, the storyline became rather confusing and complicated to follow and worst of all, they made everything all bloody and gory all because "we're not on Cartoon Network anymore and the audience grew up" when it worked fine without it and how a beloved character named Wally West died in season 2 and that seasons three and four ensures he stayed dead, much to the anger of the fans.

Not to mention the show was horrible at plot and character development as the time skips glossed over important story details like how Robin became Nightwing, what happened to characters like Lagoon Boy, and so much more.

Speaking of which, season 4 came along and repeated the same stupid mistakes as season 3 and then, in 2022, the show was canceled again and it left me sad, but this time, it wasn't because the show got canceled again but because of how the show became.

Then, a year later, we got Across the Spider-Verse. I already loved Into the Spider-Verse and I was more than excited for Across and after watching it, it really helped fill the void Young Justice left as while it was a movie and not a TV show, it actually knew how to be a fantastic piece of animated superhero media as well as being a great follow-up to it's predecessor as it refused to do the dumb mistakes Young Justice did that ruined seasons 3 and 4 and thus, after watching Across, I don't think I see myself going back to Young Justice anytime in the future as Spider-Verse already filled the void left in my heart.

Also, and this may be coincidence but around the same time as Across came out, Blue Beetle, a character featured on Young Justice, had his own solo movie but was a box-office failure. Connecting the dots here?

For reference, this is from the 1997 Selena movies.

This is how I imagine Bob Iger at Disney Animation when he announces he will cancel movies like Gigantic and Be Fri with him as Abraham and the animators as Selena and Chris where for the animators, it's all about love for animation but for Bob, it's about everything else.

It's quite prophetic that Disney's first movie to be launched under their now-defunct Touchstone Pictures banner was a movie about a man falling in love with a mermaid and 5 years later, the movie that kicked off the Renaissance was also about mermaids and both feature lovable mermaids we wanted to root for.

What's really funny is how originally, Jeffrey Katzenberg originally rejected the first attempt at a Little Mermaid movie in 1985 because of Splash but changed his mind later on and originally, following how Cinderella and Aurora were designed, they wanted to make Ariel blond but Disney didn't allow it because of Madison as they thought that because Madison was blond, it may confuse audiences in that Ariel might be Madison or vice versa and thus, requested her to be the lovable redheaded girl we know and love.

It's funny as Splash almost killed off The Little Mermaid but at the same time, Madison shaped Ariel into the iconic Disney Princess she is today.

It's from the Spin City episode Deaf Becomes Her (which appropriately stars Marlee Matlin) where Mike and his crew are in damage control after the phony interpreter in this scene offended the deaf community with his nonsense, which causes an angry Mike to tackle him off stage.

To the surprise of no one, he's a grifter who lied on the application to probably make easy money and is predictably fired.
