Seeking to do a research to get the opinions of Zimbabweans but it seems as Zimbabweans we are still shackled mentally to understand that we can actually do research that is based on our own research methodologies even if that methodology is the first of its kind
Why do we as Zimbabweans not support other Zimbabweans who do research and want to publish academic papers as well as theories that are Afrocentric in nature?
So I am doing a very important research. I would really like to get views from Zimbabweans on the issue for which I want to publish a book for. However what I noticed is that Zimbo’s shut down anything local that they might not understand or that they might feel might be against Eurocentric colonial ideals!
Also it seems people want you to frame research in the way that they have been taught by western systems that research should be done. But who says we can’t do our own researches, create our own research methodologies and arguments that will be used to collect the data?
How shall we rise if even our thought processes are dictated and we cannot be free to attempt to think differently?
The Zimbabwean online space is a powerful space that should not be tainted by musangano type heavy handedness especially a left leaning space like reddit
As Zimbabweans a lot of the times we complain about dictatorship because we have been living under one for the past 46 years but my interactions here have made me learn that some people are only unhappy because they are not the ones doing the oppression but within them is an oppressiveness and a heavy handedness towards free expression
In section 61 of our constitution > Freedom of expression and freedom of media
( 1 ) Every person has the right to freedom of expression
(a ) freedom to seek, receive and communicate ideas and other information
( b ) freedom of artistic expression and scientific research and creativity
( c ) Academic freedom
Being openly gay and black is a superpower
Being openly gay is a superpower especially In Africa in countries where homosexuality is criminalized being openly gay is a high risk and comes with dire consequences
For you guys in the west though why is the black community so homophobic?
This was a post that was removed in the Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 sub and this is a Survey I am running and it’s for educational purposes and I need to hear the thoughts and views of Zimbabweans on men who have sex with men
What makes someone gay from a Zimbabwean man/woman’s perspective. Pachivanhu chedu kana kuti mutsika yedu Chii chatinoti Ngochani? Do you know of any stories/folklore ( Ngano ) of these issues?
Hey my Zimbabwean family. I am doing some research and I will be very glad if you can assist me. This post is purely for academic purposes and I very much want to hear the thoughts 💭 of everybody.
And then please if you can answer this question: If a man has sex with another man for commercial purposes ( what is termed in Academia as MSM - Men who have sex with Men ) for a movie 🎥 role, in a Series for example a Netflix series like Beauty in Black can that man claim to be Heterosexual?
Then another question. If a man dresses 👗 in a dress 👗 for the purposes of skits and social media content so as to make profit like your Mama Vee’s, Adopted son etc can that man claim to be heterosexual
What is your take on Gay for pay 💰 men? Do you know any black men who benefit from the Queer economy but claim to be straight? How can a man who has sex with men claim to be heterosexual?
Doing ✍️ a book 📖 titled: Why Gay for pay men cannot falsely claim to be straight! A study 📚 by the Gay Prophet.
In Chapter 3 I tackle how outing of GFP men debunks the Pure identity theory and the contemporary identity based frameworks that say: “if someone identifies as straight, then they are straight period”
I would really like to hear your guys thoughts 💭 on the gay for pay 💰 topic in general and then this particular one of men who were outed as gay or bisexual after making claims that they are straight when they are bright colors in the rainbow 🌈
There are certain Zimbo’s who have not even read the constitution and they are not even interested in reading or understand it
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
I have just been thinking that the world 🌍 says all sorts of evil things about homosexuals and unfortunately a lot of us have internalized that and it has caused a lot of trauma which is why a lot of people will not live in their truths but stay stuck in the closet.
The world has created rules for us. It has criminalized homosexuality. I know many of you might be in countries where this is no longer the case but I am in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼, Africa and homosexuality is criminalized here and gay marriage is illegal. So when I see this scripture do not be conformed to this world 🌎 it does make me realize we live in a world where certain evil people are trying to police and make homosexuals conform to a mould but God tells us not to conform but to be transformed
I have just been thinking that as progressives we spend a lot of our times defending ourselves from harmful theology but I don’t see a lot of discussions on what same sex relationships actually would look like and I believe we can even apply certain scriptures in shaping a narrative and guide for wholesome same sex dating and relationships. What are your thoughts on this?
