Drop your pay and the area you live in ~ bonus points if your in one of the cities in NC/SC

Considering a move from NYC to the Carolina’s. Currently I’m at roughly 115k/year, and cannot keep up with the rising rent costs.. The hope of home ownership is out of reach here. Thinking it may be better down south.

What would you consider a good salary in Charlotte?

Just as the question suggests. Considering making a move from NYC, to Charlotte. Main draws are the ability to potentially own a home, slower life style for my little one but I am concerned about the pay gap.

For context, in NYC I’m spending roughly 60% of my take home on expenses. The other 40% will never amount to enough to afford a house.

Bonus points if you’re a nurse and want to drop your salary. 😂
