Bba Eco fin

Hey guys!

I’m looking at the BBA program at HKU and I’m a bit confused about the difference between majoring in Economics versus doing Economics and Finance together.

Could anyone explain the main differences between the two? I'm also wondering about the math side of things. Is one way more quantitative or harder in terms of the math level, or are they about the same?

I'd really appreciate any advice from people already in the course. Thanks a lot!

Hey!

One thing I'm genuinely worried about is the language barrier — how much does not knowing Cantonese or Mandarin affect day-to-day life, both on and off campus?

Is most social life in Cantonese? Do locals generally switch to English?

Hey everyone! Just committed to UCSD's Business Economics programme and would love to hear from people already in it.

Curious about:

How rigorous is the coursework?

What are career outcomes like — internships, recruiting, placements?

Worth it overall, looking back?

Any honest takes appreciated!

Hey everyone! Just got my acceptance into HKU's Eco & Fin programme and I've already committed. Super excited, but would love to hear from people already in the programme.

Specifically curious about:

How academically rigorous is it really?

What are the career outcomes like — internships, placements, etc.?

Looking back, do you think it's worth it?

Any honest takes appreciated, good or bad!
