Poor, inconsistent speeds

After a couple months of somewhat stable service, I have begun experiencing poor and inconsistent speeds. Last night I measured 48 down and 9 up. I was told conflicting information by chat, one telling me there were network performance issues and the other telling me there were no issues. They suggested I did a bunch of different things. I connected to the modem and got decent download speeds. By time I connected back to the router and rebooted, the speeds were as expected.

An hour later, I tested good speeds still 500+ up and 100+ down. This morning I tested 500+ and 100+ again. I started seeing problems later in this morning and ran another test and got 200+ down and 89 up. I tested once again and got 500+ up and 100+ down.

I have rebooted the modem, router and ethernet connected PC multiple times with no change to the speed tests.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Streaming issues

No matter what service I use (Pandora, Sirius, Spotify), the streaming is poor. The symptoms include: 1 ) streaming starting on the devices then switching to the phone, 2) choppiness, 3) not streaming at all, 3) the lights on the device with silence and "something went wrong, try again in a few minutes", and 4) streaming stopping then starting again after a few minutes. This happens more with the streaming to a group rather than individual devices. I have 6 devices in the group. I have one Nest Mini and 5 Google Nest Smart speakers.

I also have Alexa in some rooms and I don't experience these issues (esp the choppiness), so I kinda sorta have ruled out the network.

I checked location permissions in the app on the phone and set them to always allow. I assume the devices will upgrade the firmware by themselves, and I am at the latest firmware on the router (TPLink Deco xe75).

Is there anything else I can check?

Issues with Library view in Dashboard and FFMPEG CPU

Greetings,

I set up Jellyfin on Proxmox for home videos, using the community script. All was well, it played them OK, etc. I had all the internet stuff unchecked, but I had the Trickplay items enabled but not the chapter scan ones.

When I first added all the libraries, I saw Jellyfin using 100% of one core and a tad more. I went into top and saw it was ffmpeg. After a while, it quieted down. Everything played nicely on the web and Rokus. In the morning when I went to check things, it was running 100% of one core and again it was ffmpeg. This morning, same thing. So I shutdown the container. I probaby shouldn't have done that.

Now, it still plays OK, but when I go into Dashboard I see this:

When I go into Libraries, none of them show up and eventually the Add Library and Scan buttons come up.

  1. I'm guessing the config data is hosed over. Is there a way to fix it, or should I just start over?

  2. Also, why would it be using so much CPU after all the libraries had been scanned and thumbnails all done?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
