Is the iPhone 12 Pro Max good for me?

I’ve been using an iPhone 12 mini and it has been a huge delight, because I lived in a city throughout all these years, but now I’ve moved to the countryside and my needs have changed: I like to go hiking on the weekends (around 5h of gps use + google maps to drive) and I want to take better photos in nature.

Since my mini only has 64gb and the battery is at 76% I’m looking for a replacement soon, and I was wondering if the bigger brother would be a good alternative. My budget isn’t quite high at this moment.

Would the 12 pro max fulfill my needs? Do you have much experience using it in the wild, no WiFi or cellular service at times? what about the battery? I really want a reliable phone for such occasions.

I know Boox Palma 2 can’t receive texts nor make calls, but I was wondering if it works well with apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, email, etc. does it receive the notifications in time? or only after a while?

I would like to switch to a e-ink phone but I feel like they aren’t worth the investment yet, hopefully in two years or so they will be great, but for now I wouldn‘t feel confident using only an e-ink phone, I’d end up carrying both devices anyway.

So right now I would like to consider getting a Palma for many tasks that make me pick up my phone many times daily, and leave texts, calls, banking, NFC, etc. to my main smartphone.

Do you have experiences with such a setup? what are your thoughts?

I’ve been using Hello Chinese for quite some time now, and as I reach HSK3+ level, the only resources I find useful are the stories and every now and then the immersive lessons. However, it is costly, so I was looking for alternatives that have texts by levels, an audio and translation. Ideally if it had shadowing exercises, it’d be even better.
