Alchemilla Dev: New Hospital Project

A couple of days ago, I posted about my old project, Alchemilla. Today, I’m sharing my latest work.

Working as a solo artist, I looked at the RPD station in RE2 Remake for the cluster level design and SH2 Brookhaven for the art direction. However, unlike the abandoned Brookhaven, my goal was to depict a functioning, active facility.

This project took 9 months of dedicated production. Currently, I am focused on environment art and don’t have the opportunity to work on full-scale game projects, but I hope to return to it someday.

Post-Soviet Hospital (UE5)

Sharing my latest project: a series of environments focused on a Post-Soviet hospital and laboratory, aiming for "layered realism" and industrial decay.

This took 9 months of dedicated production. The scene uses Lumen for dynamic lighting to capture that cold, sterile, yet eerie atmosphere.

I am currently working as a solo environment artist. This project is my main focus for pushing asset quality and improving my skills.

Inspired by RE2 Remake and SH2: Spent 9 months solo developing this Post-Soviet Hospital environment.

Working on this project as a solo artist, I took heavy inspiration from the cluster level design of Resident Evil 2 Remake and the oppressive atmosphere of the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

My goal was to capture that specific "industrial decay" and clinical horror aesthetic using a Post-Soviet setting. I focused on authentic medical equipment, like old-school X-Ray units and diagnostic consoles, to make the environment feel grounded and lived-in.

I’ve been refining the lighting and modular structure for 9 months now to ensure it feels like a cohesive location you'd actually explore in a survival horror game.

Post-Soviet X-Ray Room: Entire set textured in 1 day (Substance Painter & UE 5.6)

Recently finished the radiology module for my hospital project. Focused on the technical complexity of Soviet-era medical hardware: Bucky stands, control consoles, and power units.

Workflow: I am using a fast texturing system based on custom smart materials in Substance Painter. This approach allowed me to finish the entire set of X-ray equipment in just one day of texturing, maintaining a consistent look across all assets while focusing on realistic surface wear and clinical grime.

Technical Details:

  • Production-ready geometry and optimized textures.
  • Custom prop set with authentic decals and technical markings.
  • Realistic age-related oxidation and clinical surface wear.

Post-Soviet X-Ray Room (UE 5.6)

Recently finished a new update for my hospital project - the X-Ray room. Expecting a Fab release soon, though currently fighting automated moderation flags. Fun fact: AI filters initially flagged these medical assets as "graphic content/violence" - apparently, Soviet radiology gear looks too intimidating for the algorithms.

Technical Details:

  • Fully optimized production-ready geometry and textures.
  • Custom prop set: Bucky stand, control console, power units, and specialized X-ray hardware.
  • Authentic decals and technical markings.

Visual Style: Focus on technical complexity and the sterile, decaying atmosphere of Soviet-era radiology departments. Clinical surfaces mixed with heavy industrial machinery.
