Dictation seems to be relying on assumptions instead of phonetics

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 26, I’ve noticed a severe decline in dictation, which already was not great. Instead of focusing on what I most likely said based on the phonetics of what was said, it seems like Apple is replacing what I’m actually saying phonetically with what a person would normally/most commonly say instead based on the word that comes before what I’m saying.

For example, I very clearly and phonetically said “A6” into my dictation, and it changed it to “AI.” Why not “ASICS” “basics” or even “assist?” My guess is because the sentence was about technology, so it assumed that I would say “AI” instead of listening to me say “A6.”

It’s made worse by the fact that the suggestions that are provided when I click on the word to see what else it interpreted are never phonetically the same either. For example, I said “adduction“ but it changed it to “abduction,” which is reasonable, even though I very specifically said it very slow and emphasize the ADD. However, when I went to click the other options, instead of showing words that sounds similar such as “adduction”, it showed words like “auction”, which would only make sense if I was typing, not speaking.

Has anyone else noticed this?

My hair went into someone’s butt today

We were doing the single leg squat with one foot on the floor and one foot pressed against the edge of the carriage. When I went down, my hair bun went down on the girl next to me.

I think I need to lay low for a while.

Solidcore, you will rue the day you made the machines that close. 😔

Is this correct?

I’m almost at the end of treatment.

I have two molar bands on my teeth (top and bottom. On rhe top, the molar band is on the very last tooth, but it’s not being pulled because my second tooth last tooth has a broken bracket, so neither are incorporated. The bottom has the band on the second to last tooth.

My orthodontist is getting ready to take my braces off and I am concerned that the molar bands are going to leave spaces on my teeth. My orthodontist said that it is going to leave spaces in my teeth but that my retainers are going to close them. I’m getting clear retainers on the top and bottom. Is this correct?

I don’t know why it took so long for it to click for me why there’s not more hypertrophy classes. It’s also tied into my recent complaint about peloton using the Arnold split (chest and back, arms and shoulders) instead of a push/pull split where it’s shoulders/triceps/chest, and back/ biceps. It’s because they keep making the classes shorter. It sounds so simple, and it is, but I don’t know why it took so long to click for me.

I was doing Jess Sim’s 45 minute push class from her intermediate program and it was like a breath of fresh air. I’ve done it 1 million times, but rediscovering it while using a bench just made it that much better. When I was sitting there during my adequate rest period after PR nearly everything, I realized that the only reason that I was able to exhaust my chest, shoulders, and triceps fully with adequate rest is because the class is 45 minutes, 1 warm-up set, 3 straight sets, with increasing rest periods.

Peloton has been making classes shorter and shorter. In my opinion, for this reason and cost savings, they are not going to focus on hypertrophy much in relation to everything else because it is very hard to get a proper hypertrophy workout in 30 minutes or less. Even the transitions can slip you into cardio.

This is also why they use the Arnold split: they group opposite muscles together so that one can “rest” while you do the other, so that they don’t have to actually give you adequate time to rest. The rest for your chest is when you’re hitting back, and vice versa.

Do I like this? No, I hate it. But now I can stop holding my breath waiting for something different.

I have been taking Alpha strength for two years but never at this time. My club recently increased the number of slots in the alpha strength classes to 20, basically forcing 10 of us to double up because we have 12 racks (in this area). We’ve never had to double up before. I did go to a different time slot than usual, though.

The only reason that I take alpha classes is so that I have a guaranteed, dedicated squat rack.

Is this the norm? It’s a huge letdown for me as I’m someone that really likes to get in the zone when I work out, and I do not want to have to worry about a partner. I am also a beginner, so the weights that I use will not be the weights that your average alpha participant would use, which makes it even less plausible to share a rack. They would literally have to add their weight on the bar between every set because I cannot lift it. That pretty much disqualifies me as a beginner/advanced beginner (not quite intermediate yet). I can almost never do the recommended weight amount for women. I got overwhelmed and didn’t even explain any of that and just left the class which sucks because now I’m on pre-workout for no reason lol.

I even tried to go to the nearby squat racks to see if I could just find my own and follow along from a distance, but they were all taken, as expected. If I have to share a squat rack, I’d rather gamble my odds showing up at less busy times to get my own rack and (maybe) follow the in-app workout. I also have a rack at home so there’s that.

The only reason that I go to Lifetime are for these classes.

Also, please understand that I know that these are first world problems. I’m just asking a question. If my expectations are unreasonable, that’s fine. I just need to know what is expected so I know if I should just try another location, or if this is the norm. Please be kind. Thank you.

I want to be able to type in plain English what type of class I’m looking for and be given suggestions. For example, “I want a class that’s just RDL, bent over rows, and split squats.” They literally have the data to make this happen, they just don’t.

I have to refresh each individual page to get all of the classes to show up… Anyone else? I just realized I missed booking half of my favorite coaches this month because I couldn’t see their classes without refreshing.

I use Peloton strength to supplement my gym workouts and I’m traditionally running some form of PPL. Why are there so little upper body pull classes on the platform? They don’t even have extra 10: back but they have extra 10: chest.

One of my favorite classes is Jess’ pull class from her program but there’s only so many times I can redo lol.

I thought that the squat days used to be programmed so that Monday was a bilateral squat day, such as barbell back squats, and Thursday was a unilateral squat day, such as Bulgarian split squats. I’m looking at the new progression after not going to Lifetime in a while and it seems like that has flipped. Is that the case?
