My girlfriend called me at 4am in the morning and my call was busy?

My girlfriend was calling me at 4:30am in the morning and i was sleeping at that time but somehow when she called me, that call was said to be busy..what might be the reason of my busy line at 4:30am, we both have iPhones, she owns iphone 14 pro max and i have iphone 17 pro (i am a new iPhone user) and at the time when she was calling me, my apple earpods were connected too. I don't have any clue why my call was busy. My phone was on sleep mode also...is it the reason for the busy call? Or anything else?

Apple care plus NEED HELP

Hi everyone, here’s my situation: I bought a new iPhone Air in Spain and want to sign up for Apple Care, but my Apple ID is registered in a different country where Apple Care isn’t available.
Support told me I need to change my region, but doing so would mean I can’t stay in my Apple Music Family and my iCloud plan would change.
Has anyone else run into this? Is there a way around it?
I’ve already created another Spanish Apple ID, but I still can’t sign up for Care+.

iPhone 17 Pro enclosure repair

What will Apple do if the aluminum enclosure of my iPhone 17 Pro is damaged? It is registered under AC one.

  1. send to repair center

  2. repair enclosure in Apple Store (they do this for screen, glass, and battery already)

  3. replacement on the spot

I don't want to use express replacement as I have encountered complication during shipping, but I also don't want to lose my iPhone for too long. I hope it is one of (2) and (3).

Thanks!

Anyone know why my alarms are just silent?

Today I slept in until 2:30 pm while 3 alarms were going off the whole time, my phone was completely silent no vibrating either. How do I fix this before I get a job?

The iPhone 17e is the classic, practical iPhone we’ve been missing.

I wrote my thoughts so I hope you could appreciate that too!

I’ve always known iPhones for their clean, practical design, a form factor that just works and feels premium. If you handed this iPhone to somebody 10 or 12 years ago, they’d immediately say, "Yes, this is an iPhone." The boxy sides, the silver rails, and the clean white back. The fact that it has Ceramic Shield 2 and satin glass on the back is just nice.

Back in the day, iPhones with the home button and fingerprint biometrics were completely practical. Sure, they had bezels, but they were built in a premium, sensible way. You get that exact same feeling with this iPhone. It’s not overwhelmingly large like a Pro Max. It’s not trying to do too much. It’s just practical, and you still get Face ID.

60Hz is fine, don't get it twisted, this is an OLED HDR display with a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Yes, it’s 60Hz, and practically speaking, that is more than enough for a smartphone. Obviously, there is a fluidity and lifelike naturalness that comes with 120Hz. However, this is a practical device. It's a phone where your life does not revolve around staring at it, so it doesn't need to be buttery smooth to do its job.

The display itself is gorgeous, and the way the 6.1-inch screen falls snug into the palm of your hand so effortlessly—without being too weighty—is exactly what I’ve always appreciated iPhones for.

Sure, the single 48MP Fusion camera doesn’t have that 0.5x ultrawide, but I never liked or used that anyway. I’ve always wanted to take a picture of what's right in front of me without the distortion of an ultrawide lens. And regarding the telephoto: for somebody who is *very* into their photography and needs 100% clarity on a zoom, yeah, go for that triple camera setup.
But for the practical user? Look at the history. Back when every phone had a single rear camera, the iPhone still took the best shots and the best videos. The balance of the exposure and color is incredibly true to life—it captures what is actually before your eyes without being overly unnatural or over-sharpened.

I’m coming from the Pixel 10 Pro, and this camera honestly takes better photos for me. I don't care about a 5x telephoto zoom if the camera gets the colors and exposure dramatically wrong and over-sharpens everything. This single iPhone camera, processed by the A19 chip's Photonic Engine, just gets it right. We've managed for a long time snapping cherishable memories and posting enjoyable photos to social media with a single lens, and a triple camera setup wouldn't change what this phone fundamentally is and can do.

My favorite iPhone was the iPhone 7, and over the years I’ve had the 12 mini, 13 mini, 15 Pro, 16, and 17 Pro. It had a practical premium build, speakers on the top, fingerprint Home button at the bottom with the display just blends away when it’s off, having water resistance at last, clean practical OS and app design especially Apple Notes, and that simple elegantly put rear camera which was reliable and took good photos and smooth videos, which fits in your pocket and fits in the palm of your hand, it wasn’t too bulky or weighty; it was practical; it was sleek; it was a nice smart phone and what I’ve always known iPhone for.

I found the 17 Pro and 16 to be almost *too* flashy. Features like Camera Control, the Dynamic Island, and 120Hz made it feel like the device was begging me to engage with it more than I needed or wanted to. Unless you're passionate about photography, constantly tweaking exposure etc, Camera Control is just an extra touch-capacitive button along with the other features above trying to make the device overly enticing. I missed the iPhone's roots—a premium, simple, practical tool that was just enough.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate what is actually packed into this 170g, 6.1-inch chassis. A 4000+ mAh Battery. In an efficient 6.1-inch iOS device. That is great. A19 Chip & 8GB RAM, all the capable "smartphoning" you could ever need, with years of security support ahead of it. Action Button and USB-C are just sweet. Better water rating (6m for 30 mins), improved C1X modem for connectivity, MagSafe, Dolby Vision, and on-device ray tracing. A 12MP front camera and Face ID.

Even though this starts at 599 (for 256gb, though I have the 512gb variant) and is the entry model for the 17 lineup, just compare that value for what you’d get now for that price in comparison to the iPhone back then not too differently priced; let’s not get it twisted—this is Apple at its roots.

Honestly, it's just a combination of folks sleeping on it or being insecure about not having a triple camera to show off in the mirror, afraid of looking "cheap” or sum but this device is nothing of that sorts. It’s the classic, premium, practical iPhone we have always known and appreciated, just updated with today’s internals. Gorgeous OLED Ceramic Shield two with anti-glare, classic silver boxy rails, white satin glass back, aerospace-grade aluminum, sapphire crystal lens, and a simple camera that takes amazing shots. This is what the iPhone always was, y'all.

I cannot get airplay or screen mirroring to work on my new tv

I got a brand new TLC tv. AirPlay is turned on, they are both connected to the same WiFi, they have been turned off/rebooted and turned back on, I have reset my network, no VPNs, low power mode isn’t on, both are updated, I can’t even add it to my HomeKit with the QR code the tv provides. I really want to be able to use this feature, what is going on

Why isn’t this app more popular?

I’ve been testing out a few different camera apps over the last couple of months and most of them are on the “no processing” selling point which I get.

This app doesn’t seem to lean towards that selling point but for my usage that’s fine.

I do think the super powers it does enable, at the cost of processing time and possibly overheating, I think is a bigger selling point for me. Specifically the faux 10x zoom has been extremely useful while also producing photos that have a “better than stock camera” look that I prefer.

Apps like “no fusion” get a ton of reviews and it’s a great app for what it does but there are many that do similar things.

Why hasn’t this free, Adobe produced, “super” camera app more popular amongst people who review camera apps and or general photography?

Anti Green Bubbles

I've always wondered if there are more non iPhone that don't get texted or miss out on things because iPhone users would rather not have a green text.

Like let's say you match on tinder you exchange numbers and she doesn't text just because you came up green. How many soul mates have been a missed connection? How may group activities has someone missed because they don't want to add a green bubble to the chat?

Do you guys think it's more common than less?

Not so well known, new, and any app recommendations

My last post got quite a few responses with great recommendations, so I thought I would do another. What are some apps you find useful or just really like? Here’s some more of mine.

Stash Anything a fairly new app that you can quickly save stuff via share sheet to any folder (either pre installed or created), it’s currently a onetime payment and is one of my favorite new apps.

Just Did is a when did I last do something app to keep track of things. It’s free to use for personal use, has a task pro $2.99 option for cosmetic changes and a spaces feature for sharing between multiple people (members) available for monthly or yearly subscription or a onetime lifetime option.

Speech Central Voice Reader is an app that does text to speech like web pages and more offers CarPlay support so you can listen on the go, and is free to try with a limit set on number of articles and a onetime payment to remove the limit.

Wheneri is a simple tracker for chores and routines so you never forget when it’s time again. The app is currently free and is very easy to use.

Locally AI is a free app that allows you to download and try different AI models on device only, totally private and can be used offline, great app that’s definitely worth having on your device.

Synctasks is a simple clean minimalist reminder app that you can use standalone or sync with Apple Reminders or Notion, it also has very nice widgets and is a onetime payment.

HiFutureSelf is a text based type reminder app to send text to yourself in the future, it’s simple and quick and very easy to use, also free and been maintained for a long time.

Speedometer 55 pro is a GPS app with an insane amount of features that’s been maintained by a great developer for a long time, it’s a onetime payment and definitely worth it.

Remind Me Faster is a companion app to the iOS Reminders app that makes adding reminders quick and easy, onetime payment options and definitely worth it if you rely on Apple Reminders.

News Explorer is a RSS news type app that you can view most anything like YouTube, Reddit and more, great design and has been maintained for a long time plus onetime payment.

What's the iPhone ad you actually remember?

I went down a YouTube rabbit hole this week rewatching old iPhone commercials. I'd forgotten how cinematic some of them are. The Romeo and Juliet Portrait Mode launch, scored to a 1968 Nino Rota cue.

The Hermitage one continuous take that ran 5 hours, 19 minutes, 28 seconds inside the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. Frankie's Holiday at Christmas. The Bella Ramsey "Email Summary" bit last year for Apple Intelligence.

But the one that still gets me is "Thumb." 2012, iPhone 5. Context: Samsung had just released the Galaxy Note. Everyone was racing into 5.5-inch territory and everyone was selling "bigger" like it was a feature. Apple's answer was a 30-second ad of nothing but thumbs landing on the new screen. No specs, just pure condescendingword-play

It's the most condescending ad they ever shot (as far as I remember), and I love it for that. Apple was looking at the industry and going we don't need to do that to sell a phone. Thumb was the flex, and that size was apt (back then)

iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus, did come right after but for those two years of iPhone 5, and 5s, I sent that ad to all my friends who got samsung, and tbh I got an iPhone 5 because of that ad.

Which one stuck with you? If anyone wants to go through the rabbit hole, I pulled everything together here. To go through as many iPhone ads, I could find.
