He talked about getting baptized for almost 2 years. Always said “I’m not ready yet”.

On February 28, he finally did it and I didn’t expect it to affect me the way it did. Seeing someone choose faith like that, not out of pressure but out of understanding, made me reflect on my own relationship with it now I want to get him something to remember that moment.

Not something basic or symbolic just for the sake of it, but something that actually carries meaning but something he can wear or keep daily.

Mother’s Day is coming up and I really want to get my mom something that feels thoughtful, not just flowers or a gift card again. She’s always doing everything for everyone else so I just want her to feel appreciated this time.

I was thinking about something personalized, maybe a name necklace, engraved pendant, or even something with birthstones. I just don’t want it to feel generic or like something she’ll wear once and forget about.

Has anyone actually found something like that that feels personal and also holds up over time? Open to ideas if there’s anything better than jewelry too.

Every time I scroll past another Mothers Day post about empowerment jewelry with my kids names engraved on it, I picture myself in five years yanking it off because little Timmy decided he hates the world and now the necklace feels like a curse.
