Honest Correction or Image Control?

I’ve been paying attention to people who constantly “misspeak” and then immediately walk things back once they notice people’s reactions change. And not the occasional misunderstandings. I mean the people who repeatedly say something harsh, revealing, insensitive, or honest… and then suddenly it’s, “wait, that’s not what I meant”, once they realize how they’re being perceived; and honestly, I think those first responses matter A LOT. And no, not because every emotional reaction is the absolute truth… but because unfiltered responses usually reveal the things that a curated image is trying to hide. Especially if there’s a repeated pattern of this.

Idk, I feel like people are often the most honest before they realize they should be performing. Do you think it’s honesty slipping out… or simple mistakes?

I think a lot of lonely people are approaching friendship backwards.

I see a lot of the same questions here and the answer is people are searching for “friends” first instead of building a life that naturally puts them around compatible people.

Most adult friendships come from repeated exposure and shared environments. A hobby. A class. The gym. A game store. A volunteering group.. Basically a specific interest. Even frequenting the same coffee shop can result in a conversation with the cashier or another person who’s a regular there too. People bond over familiarity and common ground more than forced socializing (which we all dread anyway). The easiest way to make friends is usually to become someone who regularly exists in spaces where your kind of people already are.

I hope this helps.

I’ve been observing a lot of what’s being labeled as “femdom” or “findom” online lately, and I’m honestly confused. The constant L fingers and mimicking small penises in photos.. begging for tributes?? It feels so performative.. Almost desperate.

I thought the appeal of a Domme was Presence. Control. Restraint... But a lot of what I’m seeing looks like people trying to convince others that they have power instead of just… having it. It seems so forced now. Maybe I’m missing something. Idk.

Am I the only one who feels like we’re starting to lose the plot?
