Bravia 8ii

I’m currently using a Sony X75WL with a Q990D, and I’ve been looking to upgrade. I went into Currys hoping to see the Bravia 9, but they only had the **Bravia 8 II** on display.
They also showed me the LG G5 and the Samsung S95F. To be honest, the Bravia 8 II felt a little dull to me. I’m a huge Sony fan and I usually stick to Cinema mode (not a fan of Vivid at all), but I just wasn't "blown away" like I expected to be. The G5 actually looked better to my eyes in the store.
I’d love to stay with Sony, but now I’m second-guessing. Is it likely just the store’s lighting and settings making the Sony look flat, or is the gap between these sets actually that noticeable?
