I am observing a pattern where advanced reasoning models try to over hypothesize, explore too many edge cases, and infer hidden intent, which generates very long chains of logic. If the advanced reasoning model doesn't know something, it tries to interpolate and come up with a coherent explanation, even if it is not fully correct. Additionally, for a retrieval-based task, the models start reasoning instead, leading to hallucinations. This usually happens when the prompts are too ambitious and the context window is too large. Curious to see if others are observing similar patterns

Can't get the date right from agents, even with the latest models, have you observed similar issues? If you are trying to create a booking agent, what will you do to make sure that the agent books the appointment for the correct date, because sometimes the context drifts at run time and sometimes it can't understand the relative time like next monday or tomorrow evening. Also, timezone handling is another issue? how are you solving these issues in real-world deployments?

Have been into technology services industry for over a decade and seen a lot of ups and down and wild swings! During covid, there was a sudden drop in demand and then an exponential surge! And then ChatGPT happened, demand slowed down again for couple of years and now back up. Lesson learnt: success comes down to surviving the difficult phases long enough to see the next opportunity!
