Handbrake or Adobe Media Encoder?

Hi,

I have my lifetime worth of videos. Some old smarphone full HD videos, some recent smartphones 4k footage, drone footage, heavy DSLR footage. All of them SOOC unedited.

I want to optimize my storage space and batch compress all those videos. Obviously I want to keep a good quality (something equivalent to youtube) and the original resolution, with minimal file size. I don't mind it if takes a long time to compress.

ChatGPT says Handbrake is better than AME, do you guys agree? (I already have creative suite so cost is not a factor in that choice)

Any recommended settings for my use case?

Thanks

Drills vs Impact Drivers - What am I missing?

Hi,

So I've read that drills are made to spin fast and not too much torque, so even though the main use case is to drill holes, they can be used to screw small stuff that doesn't require high torque. Most of them have a fine tuning for torque with 14-16 speeds.

Impact drivers, however, are capable of much higher torque and made specifically to screw big stuff, not a tiny screw on your Ikea furniture (you can but it can get ugly). Most impact drivers I've seen have only 3 torque settings.

Why on earth is it the drill and not the impact driver that has 16 settings for torque?! Is it a technical limitation or did I miss something? And why are those levels called 1, 2 and 3 and not the max torque value in nm or ft/lbs?

Is it not physically possible to have a powertool with 20 different settings, starting at 5nm all the way up to 200nm?

Thanks

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm not asking why we use a drill and not an impact driver for a small screw. I'm asking why impact drivers don't have 16 speeds

I'm considering using a large LED panel (over a meter wide) and place it on the wall in front of my screen, maybe a meter over my face and slightly angled downwards. Is there any downside to such a setup? I've literally never seen anyone using this, yet I always read that for photo/video, the bigger the light source the more pleasant the shadows become.

I see a lot of people using small rings and rectangular LED panels (but literally 10-15cm wide)

Is there any downside to installing a 1m+ pannel like that on my wall, slightly angled, above my monitors? (intensity and color are customizable)

Ok so I have 3 laptops with 3 distinct usecases:
- Gaming laptop (Windows), casual gaming definitely not competitive but 4K would be nice
- Work laptop (Mac), I like having several windows open so thinking of a dual monitor setup. Potentially one horizontal one vertical for slack/emails but not 100% sure.
- Personal laptop (Mac), used for browsing and video/photo editing. Not a pro but color accuracy would be nice.

I don't know if I should get 2 screens or just a big one? I share my screen a lot at work so I don't know if something too big is good - I know there are apps to share just part of the screen but are they really reliable or will it be a pain?
Or should I get 3 screens and completely separate my gaming laptop (1 screen) from the other 2 (2 screens)? That way I need to buy 2 keyboards/mice but can avoid having a KVM for 3 devices and having to swich Mac/Windows mode all the time?

Thoughts? Any monitor recommendation?

Thanks

Edit: forgot to say, not planning to spend a fortune but budget isn't a massive issue so not trying to optimize for that
