Women who post about all men being trash create more misogynists than the actual manosphere misogynists.

Whenever I see some podcast clip from a manosphere podcast or a misogynist post about women from a man, it’s very easy to write that off as moronic nonsense. No part of me agrees with it, it doesn’t change my outlook in the slightest. Most men feel this way, most men understand fully that these are doofuses to be ignored.

However, when I see a woman talk about how all men are trash, I feel a real twinge of annoyance and frustration, especially when it’s coming from an influential person like a pop star or a big influencer. That does impact my thinking, especially when you see it over and over.

I imagine that if you are a young kid and forming your views of the world and if women, seeing that kind of message over and over will do nothing but breed insecurity and anger directed at women. That messaging is much more likely to create misogynists, and is likely to push them into the manosphere.

We need to treat that kind of message the same way we treat the manosphere guys. It should be shunned and mocked and ridiculed every time you see it, because that’s the messaging that creates real hatred towards women.

EDIT: the point I’m trying to make is that seeing a woman say she hates men is more emotionally powerful as a man than seeing a man say misogynistic things. A man is more likely to become a misogynist if he thinks women hate him than if he’s logically persuaded by an Andrew Tate video.

And it should have been clear, but I am absolutely not saying misogyny is women’s fault, or that people like Andrew Tate aren’t extremely harmful.

When people are inconsistent in their beliefs regarding pornography/sex work.

People have a lot of opinions regarding these things, and they almost always strike me as philosophically inconsistent. You’ll often hear guys talk about how they watch porn or go to strip clubs, but then in the next sentence they will be denigrating the actresses/sex workers and calling them slurs. I don’t understand how you can participate in and consume those things, but then hold so much contempt for the people who make them possible.

This applies in the opposite direction as well. You’ll see people with nothing but support for sex workers, and then turn around and call any guy who consumes it disgusting and pathetic. That makes no sense to me.

I understand if you believe the sex industry is exploitative, immoral and bad for society. I also understand if you think it’s just an expression of human sexuality and totally healthy as long as it’s done safely. But you have to pick a lane. It takes the workers and the customers to make that industry possible, you can’t have respect for one and contempt for the other.

Is it reasonable to switch back and forth between the NATO strap and a steel bracelet for a khaki field?

I’m buying a khaki field but can’t decide if I want to do the NATO strap or a steel bracelet, and want to be able to switch back and forth. Is this reasonable?
I wanted to see if anybody switches back and forth relatively often, or if it’s too much of a hassle or wears down the watch after a while.

When you’re watching a movie with somebody, they get up to go to the bathroom, and they tell you not to pause it.

It either means they’re not really paying attention and don’t care, or it means they’re going to ask you what happened while they were gone, and both are annoying. If we’re watching a movie together, I want to enjoy it together.

Obviously this doesn’t apply to movies you’ve seen before or movies that are just kind of on in the background that you aren’t really paying attention to. But if it’s a new movie you’re watching together, pause it if you get up.

You could be talking about how much you value loyalty in a relationship, and somebody will inevitably say something like “sounds like somebody just got cheated on”.

I saw somebody say they hate pick up trucks, and somebody said “you must have been bullied by a kid with a truck in high school”.

It’s just such an obnoxious tendency to make wild assumptions about somebody’s “true motivations” instead of just taking them at their word.
