It was so funny! The part where they talk about how 'what you mean, you're not an alcoholic if you're not drinking, it's called ALCOHOLism...." and its so true because so many times in AA i've had people tell me 'this goes beyond drinking..." , "its a thinking problem not a drinking problem" - and crap like that... basically anyone who has any struggle life is an alcoholic by their definition and only they have the solution.

It really needs to start going mainstream that AA is snakeoil BS and shouldn't be the default recommendation for AUD. Statistically only 1 in 20 people are able to stay sober with AA.

especially if you aren't able to get a college degree its SO HARD to get a job that pays enough to live modestly even, pretty much all the jobs are poverty wages and exhausting mentally and physically.

And girls want guys who are successful how are they even finding so many guys who are able to be successful when things are this difficult?

i have tried both vegan omega supps and fish oil supps - the vegan algae based ones give me horrible acid reflux and stomach pain, the fish oil ones give me fish burps and flare up my sebderm! what am i supposed to do

its too bad cause i liked music, but lately i find it too stimulating and it wears me out, even slow casual songs....

im not too upset though cause with how bad my last burnout was i genuinely feel angry and hate music now!

really getting fed up doing the same routines every day and trying to expose him to the world from a distance and every time it feels like a step forward i am hit with 2 steps back and it literally doesnt feel worth it. Thinking of buying some land out in the country and making a house there and just let him be a guard dog, i feel like that's what he is wired for.

i need to get a ruffland crate for my dog, and the current crate i have i can't fit in the rear seats from the side doors and when i fold the seats down they dont fold flat so its quite awful!

so wondering if a ruffland XL would fit in the side doors at least since they are more made for cars

there is an entire subreddit to people using ai as therapist and how reddit allows it blows my mind.

i say this because i have done this!

at first it feels great, getting validation in such a cruel world when you are already hurting, it feels like someone finally sees you!

but when you're spiraling and it's reinforcing things for you in all the wrong ways, it can be extremely damaging. sure sometimes when i was struggling ai would help me find my out - but too many times i was struggling and it just kept things feeling doom and gloom while giving half hearted advice and genuinely made me worse.

it sucks that therapy is expensive and it sucks that so many therapists out there are terrible - but please keep trying to find the right program for you. I am in DBT cause i have BPD and i take vivitrol to help me stay sober so i can do the DBT and it has been life changing.

fuck ai and what the hell reddit why are you allowing subreddits that promote using ai as therapists that is DANGEROUS and actually harmful? how many more people will delete themselves before that subreddit is shut down??

when i watched the show as a kid i always felt like malcolm was the genius victim in the family

but watching it now again as an adult, you can see that the biggest difference between malcolm and reese is that reese is an idiot. otherwise malcolm is usually down for all the scams and pranks that reese wants to do, and he is happy to beat up dewey right alongside reese - and the fact that malcolm messed around with reese's girlfriend to the point where reese broke down and joined the army - that's probably worse than anything reese ever did to malcolm!

i spent 4 years going in circles with AA, I finally found my path thanks to vivitrol (which gave me an initial boost of sobriety) and DBT (which helped address the internal problems that made me drink!) I got lucky with the exact therapist i needed so I am thankful for that.

But man i still see some of my old friends from aa on facebook, and even now every day they are posting like 'omg i am so thankful to god for my sobriety and my family and blah blah blah' and its dude its been 6 years now, have you not done anything else?? I don't even think about sobriety anymore, I quit, I sorted my issues, I moved on - I spent the last year traveling and now I'm doing k9 search and rescue - I would hate to have the rest of my life revolve around this 1 period of addiction.

for example around me the cheapest 4runners are like 12k with 200k+ miles - and when you go a few years old its still like 40k miles for a couple thousand less than new.

So is it better to just get the cheapest 4runner you can find with high miles hoping it will last cause of the reliability? or what would you say is the sweet spot in price?

my gsd is 5 months old and he barks like crazy when he sees other dogs and people even though he is well bred and i did the socialization check list everyone recommended and we did puppy school and a couple sessions with a private trainer

i was told to see a behaviorist but they want like 2 thousand+ dollars and its not feasible for me. so i wonder if they can maybe just do 2-3 sessions with me or something.

otherwise what else should i do?

i mostly been trying to build neutrality by having him see other people from a distance and giving him treats and praising him for looking without reacting, but its been a damn uphill battle.

i feel like i made a huge mistake getting a GSD, i knew they were complicated but i thought if i did the socialization and everything and went to a responsible breeder i would ok, but i guess not.

i wanted to be positive only but its not working but i also dont trust all these youtube dog training grifters and the open subreddit telling you to use prong collars and shock collars - so there a middle path that actually works?

i've had my eye on it for a while, though tbh i have seen the price go from like 3800 to over 5k now - are there better options at this price or is it still a good buy?
