Is asking for 6 months of Soberlink reasonable?

My husband and I have separated. He’s an alcoholic. We have two toddlers. We were trying to figure out custody amicably but we are not agreeing (shocker).

My proposal was joint legal custody, primary physical custody for me, and Tuesday & Thursday evenings and Saturdays 9am-8pm until he has sustained sobriety in excess of 6 months verified via Soberlink. At that time, the custody agreement would be updated to include overnights. I’d also like continued use of Soberlink for an additional 6 months as he has a track record of relapsing and lying about it.

He wants all weekends right out the gate and no Soberlink.

Is my proposal unreasonable?

It’s Mother’s Day and I’m doing the same thing I always do

My husband and I separated one week ago today. We still live under the same roof for now. We have two toddlers. I did get to sleep in this morning but now he’s left to go to the mall to get my necklace fixed for me for Mother’s Day. Which means he gets to go do errands kid free while I navigate a 1.5 year old and an almost 3 year old by myself for a few hours. But guys… the divorce came out of nowhere!

I was married once before I found Jesus. I got divorced because he had a change of heart about having kids and that was a non-negotiable for me. I’m now in the process of divorcing my second husband and father of my children because he’s an abusive alcoholic. I’m struggling with reconciling this with my faith and what it means for me… what does the Bible say about this?
