Hello, all. My soul dog passed away in March and her end of life care totaled more than $15,000 which I am in the process of paying off. I decided as a way to navigate the grief I would foster.

Turns out my foster has what I think is a highly sensitive stomach issue, potentially IBD per an ultrasound done in 2022 with previous owner, and maybe combined with GERD and definitely Billious Vomiting Syndrome. Because of this, I would not be able to adopt him as I cannot afford the veterinary and food costs.

Also, his care is exhausting. We just hit the one week mark of him not vomiting bile which I am so thrilled about but he needs practically round the clock care with 4 meals a day, famotidine and a probiotic. His walks have to be timed perfectly too so he doesn't get nauseous.

Does anyone else have experience with these types of issues? Does it ever get easier? I really love him and will continue to foster him. But I don't see high chances of him getting adopted at 8 years old with these medical issues.

Hi, all. Need to bring a family member for knee replacement surgery. Who do you all recommend? Looking for the best experiences/outcomes for patients 70+ years old. TIA

Hello, all. I am fostering an 8 year old, 50 pound, fixed male shepherd mix in the Chicago area.

The rescue tried to ignore his history of tummy troubles and had him eating "normal" food. With some persistence from me and after a Sunday spent of bile vomiting, the rescue agreed to get him back on his rx food and he has been doing better - firmer stools, no bile vomiting (until this morning).

We felt comfortable enough to get a much needed dental scheduled for him for next week.

So since he does seem to have tummy issues and BVS is there anything special that should be done with his dental? The prolonged fasting is worrying me. He did have another bile vomit episode this morning so we need to adjust his feeding schedule more.

Please share some guidance on handling a dental. Or maybe it isn't even recommended with his condition?

Thank you-

Hello, all! While this product from Ilia did not cause me to breakout, it did cause flushing. Does anyone have a recommendation for a similar product? I liked how lightweight it was. TIA!
