hi everyone! this painting, titled “maybe tomorrow”, was painted on 18x24” canvas with acrylic paints!
this piece was created with a childhood disappointment many of us remember quite vividly in mind. it captures the moment you see rain hit your window and the realization that you won’t be able to have fun outdoors that day… as well as the hope that tomorrow will bring sunshine. I remember being so upset when it rained, because I knew my mom would make me stay inside!😩 my birthday was also during rainy season back in my hometown, so I painted this on that day as a little throwback to that memory! I wanted to give a similar feeling/vibe to that experience and I hope I did!

this is a little piece I painted a while ago that I wanted to share! happy mwm to all the black artists/creatives!🖍️
the theme of this piece was about leaving everything you know behind. when I left my hometown eleven years ago, it was on a rainy night just like this and I definitely wanted to capture the essence of what I saw and felt that night❤️
originally painted on 18x24” inch canvas

it’s been a long while since i’ve had time to work on my rain paintings again and I’m glad I finally had a chance to! this piece was inspired by an early childhood memory of drawing on window during a quiet car ride. I remember making all kinds of designs on my window on the way to school and I found myself tracing my finger on the prints in this painting a few times while making it
this piece serves as a reminder of those fleeting memories of being a child and having those little pockets of peace in the backseat. hope it brings back some of your own memories!
