Tourist need to understand that we all don't speak English and they need to be multilingual

Alot of tourists visit my country and think you speak English. We do speak English, I do too but I prefer speaking Afrikaans. English is a language we sometimes use, but not everyone was privileged enough to learn English in school. If you talk to me in English, I will respond back in Afrikaans or even Zulu. You can't want to travel to different countries and not learn any language there. You'll learn.

Tipping isn't necessary

I'm not from the U.S thankfully, tips aren't a requirement. If the service is good you tip well, if it's bad service with a bad waiter you don't really tip.

Even though I'm 16, i go out alot with my friends and the most i tip is 100 but if i don't have that much money or i got horrible service, i won't tip.

Alot of people act like tipping is a obligate thing, like " don't eat out if you can't tip " is so stupid, because you already struggling with money and you don't want paying customers to not eat out, you won't get any pay.

Also i have worked in food service at a food stand that operates for 8am till 6 pm, i have to make the food, serve, handle the money and till keep up good customer service. It's hard work and tiring. Ik, i have to he standing for hours on hours with only a 30 minute break.

Asking someone out when they with other people is wrong

The worst kind of people are the ones who ask you out infront of your friends or whoever you're around.

You can be hanging out with your friends and some random guy or girl will walk up to you, trying to flirt with you and ask you out. At least wait till I'm alone, because if I'm having a conversation with my friends and some rando flirts with me and I have to reject you, it would be awkward because you just gotta walk back to your friends or my friends might laugh if I reject you.

The vibe gets ruined, there are other ways to ask people out.

Story time when my teacher took my allgercy pills and I still ate my lunch knowing I'm allergic

This was a long time ago but I am allergic to fish, not in a way where my throat swells up and I can't breath. I just get hives and swell up with my lips, face and eyes.

Allergex helps, so I can eat fish and just take a pill. I'll be okay.

Now I don't eat in the morning, and lunch at school is at 11. I of course brought my pills with a doctors note to show my teachers, incase they think I'm doing drugs or something. Literally it was still in the chemist box and packaging with my information on.

Now, my one teacher didn't believe me, she was always difficult. So she took my pills and put them in her bag, because apparently she didn't want me doing drugs in school.

Now when lunch came around everyone was eating their food but me. Since at school you bring your own food, my friends only had enough food for them and I understand because school is like 9 hours long and you want to eat what you can. I'm starving, but being me I ate my tuna. I was hungry and if something happened I'll just blame my teacher since she took my pills.

After a while, my skin was ichy and I of course swelled up and looked like a red cabbage patch kid. I didn't really care that much, I was with my friends in the office as the principal and deputy were panicking. My friends told them that Mrs L took my allgercy pills and I got a reaction, my teacher got called into the office and brought the pills with her. I took them and healed, my cousin worked there at the time, she called my mum who took off with the printer for hiring stupid people who are putting kids lives at risk.

My teacher obviously got fired since she was seen as being too stupid to teach and a threat to her students.

This was so long ago, plus my allgercy isn't life or death but just being ichy and chubby

How one girl in my class got bullied for being a little dumb

We all 16/ 15 here

Now, we had this assignment to do a unprepared speech. The teacher will just give you a random topic and you will have to do a speech based on that topic. Like, he calls your name you stand infront of everyone, he gives a topic and in that moment you have to do a peach on the topic.

It's hard especially if you get one on a topic you don't even know or even understand the basic meaning to it. Now you have to do a whole speech ane answer questions from students and teachers about the speech you did with correct information. Like this teacher wants real information and not anything based on religion.

Now, this one girl I know. She's a witch doctor, seriously she is a traditional African doctor. She is very open about it and no body cares because it's her life and she's cool.

Now her topic was about Astrobiology.

This girl did a speech about how she doesn't believe in space and how planets aren't real to her. Because that's where her ancestors are and heaven, the speech was 30 minutes long and each word left us all confused.

So in the end we had to ask questions, someone asked her " So what is the moon?". She just said ".It's a planet ", like girl you literally said planets and space aren't real but you admit the moon is a planet.

After that everyone made fun of her, besides me I don't really care enough to make fun of her and plus I know alot of witch doctors so I understand her beliefs.

Having a preference is not a issue and grow up and understand not everybody will want to be with you

People make it seem like having a preference is a hate crim, believe it or not but people are attracted to certain things physically and by personality.

Alot of people hate to understand and say " looks aren't everything " duh, well all know that but would you want to be with someone who doesn't find you attractive and looks at other people who are their actual type. If so, you're pathetic.

If your personality is boring, your partner won't be interested in talking to you or hanging out with you. If they don't have anything to share or even feel a spark for.

Having a preference is there to show you have a standard and won't settle for less as well as being with someone you're actually find attractive.

Also I'm talking about personality too and I mentioned it too, because alot of people will be saying " Looks aren't everything " or " You'll mature and see looks aren't important ". Like you guys skip the whole personality thing and pick and choose.

AITAH for not wanting to be around my dad or even feel a bit of love for him?

So I 16 f lived with my mum and grandparents my entire life. I don't really have a relationship with my dad, maybe when I was younger but now I don't really have one.

Around the age of 8 or so I just stopped caring about him, I realized he never really was there. There were times he would had pick me up from school when I was in kindergarten and I would wait there til sunset and just walk to his house. He never called me or even came to get me, when I was 8 I decided to not text first or call first or even visit to see if he would reach out to me. It lasted til I was 14. I would see him in between those years but he was more like a stranger to me or a guy I just know. Literally my step dad does more for me then my own father, my step literally made me a blanket and picks up my meds when my dad didn't even know I'm allergic to fish and last thing he got me was a doll when I was 5.

I don't really care or feel any pain from it, it's just one of those things. He was abusive to my mum, still tries to claim her and is a lair.

I don't hate him or love him, he is just there ig.

Just because they your parents doesn't mean you should forgive them and owe them everything

Look, people with good home lives who think a argument with your parents is disagreeing on dinner and a restaurant and movies shouldn't tell people who grew up with physical, emotional, mental and sexual abused kids who don't want to forgive their parents and forget anything. Imagine telling a victim to forgive the person who traumatized them and forget about all the teauma like it was a nightmare. Forgiving them doesn't make you a better person, you a better person because you set a boundary and respect yourself enough to not allow people who hurt you back in.

If you wouldn't go to random SA or abused victims telling them to forgive and forget don't tell that to people who've been through that with their parents.

I don't feel bad or even care that I kicked people out of youth trips

So I 16 f just became youth leader, which means I'm in charge of youth and the events and practices.

We have fun raisers to get money so we as youth can travel and have fun with the money we raised and decide where to go too.

Now, I organized a bake sale, car wash and play. We all agreed to do it.

But, I noticed that there are people who don't show up. They 4, 3 girls and 1 boy. For the bake sale they didn't contribute anything or even show up, the car wash they never showed up even though it was their idea and last the play. They never came to practice or even to the play itself.

Look, I don't expect people to drop everything to come to practice or these fun raisers, even before I came youth leader I would sometimes skip practices but show up to the event. Not everyone would make it to practice but would show up for the fun raiser because we all wanna go out and have fun.

Th2se 4 never did anything in youth fun raisers but would always be first for the event. Since I became youth leader I found it selfish that we work hard to make enough money and too make extra for 4 missing people.

Before kicking them out on our trip to the water park, I told them that it's unfair we do all the work to get the money and they don't even help us make it. They of course didn't take me seriously since I'm 16 and they like 18+. And don't want to be told what to do by a kid.

So I kicked them out of this trip since they didn't make any money or contribute anything. Funny thing is, I don't feel bad or even sad. I don't care if they mad at me. We all worked hard to get money for bus fee, food fee, and tickets to get to the water park. mind you in total we 50 something like. so we need to hire 2 busses, have enough money to feed us all and pay for tickets

AITAH for crying and throwing a tantrum because my niece touched my stuff?

So I 16 F live with my mum and grand parents, my birthday is on the 22 of May. Even though I'm a only child, I buy my own birthday parents with money I make on my own, like with my own toiletries. I get money every month but never see it, my grandmother has full control over it so if I need any pads or deodorant. I need to make a plan for myself to get those things because she won't buy it for me and my mum is unemployed.

So I just do hair, make up and piercings for money, to buy those stuff because who will if not me?

Now, I bought these expensive headphones for a early birthday gift. I used it before my birthday just because I can and I want to be able to listen to music and watch movies on my phone.

Now, I came back from school after a hard economics test paper. I just wanted to listen to some green day and study soon after. When I got home I saw my older cousin sitting with my grandparents, I greeted them before making my way to the room when I saw the door was open even though I remembered it was closed when I left. My cousin was laughing saying her daughter who is 6 was in there trying to do her hair and make up. I got angry because once again I buy that stuff with the little cash I have, I walked in to find my niece on the floor and my lotion is laying everywhere, make up messed up and mixed as well as my hair gel is watered down. My skincare bottles are empty and mixed together but my heart really broke seeing my headphones snapped in half and dipped into a tub of cream.

When I say i cried I mean I cried, those headphones cost me 200 and that hair gel was supposed to last me all month, skincare is obviously expensive and I suffer from dry skin in winter and now my lotion made for my sensitive skin is mixed with other junk which would cause break outs and burns on my skin.

I went down and fully cried on my floor, I was laying there and punching the walls. My birthday present is ruined, I don't have gel for my hair for school and my school doesn't allow beanies so now I gotta rock up to school with messy hair that won't be styled properly, my skin will burn and dry out and now I'm going to have pimples and marks on my body again.

My cousin was telling me I'm overreacting and that I should hide my stuff, mind you. My door was closed which means someone had to open the door for her to get in, I don't see why everyday I have to hide my stuff in my room because people are bad parents. Also she refused to buy me or give me money for the stuff her child damaged because it's my fault. Mind you everything in portal is passed 1000. So I have to make more money till my birthday to get everything back or else I'll look like a ill hobo on my own birthday. I suffer from heavy depression from physical, emotional and mental abuse, I have alot of mental disorders but my family doesn't believe in those things so I have to buy my own meds. Been insecure because I never really looked beautiful and been told I look like Rue Bennett from Euphoria. I do smoke weed to help with my pain but last time I was high was in December
