if gamers nexus is doing a deal with prusa and booting bambu. he should be obligated to do a video on the several bills being put through that would practically make bambu the only option

title.

this is about AB2047, A2228, and Bill 2321.

Bills that would require 3d printers to implement techology to detect if you are printing firearm parts.

manufactures would have to implent this on a hardware and software level, and not doing so means you cant sell your printer in that state

selling, modfying or transerfing a printer without this tech would be illegal. consituting a fine or possibly jail time

and as it stands, Bambu is in the best place to comply with this out of the gate, and undoubtably, brands that are open source first, would refuse sell in these states, if not the country

already this is over 70 million people that would lose access to these kinds of printers.

so if you're going to be an advocate for open source like this, Gn needs to be a part of seriously talking about these bills.

unpopular opinion. Rossman and others are more fired up vs the bigger problems facing 3d printing right now. AB2047 and other bills are not dead and are advacing.

Cool. bambu did something you didnt like. Whatever. Sure, it's distasteful. But there are much bigger fish to fry right now

Where is the energy on AB2047 and similar bills that threaten 3D printing and open source as a whole? Hello????

We have a bill that is physically threatening manufacturing as a whole with very heavy hitters like California, Colorado, New York, and New Jersey.

That's ~74 million people who will lose access to a traditional 3D printer.

And everyone here is more fired up against Bambu and a single action against a developer.

There hasn't been a damn peep out of Rossman over this or Steve from Gn, since you guys worship them so much.

"Wah, I don't want Bambu seeing what I do!!!! They control too much!!! Open source!!! Open source!!!!"

Well, if you don't do anything against these bills, no matter the printer you have, you're not going to have a choice!!!

Ab2047 is already almost at Assembly, with Appropriations happening tomorrow.

Once it hits the assembly floor, that's 3 steps away before it's actually passed.

And if California or any of these states pass it, damn near guaranteed others will follow.

So, are you going to keep whining about a singular company and come back once printers are secured?

Or are you going to keep focusing on this and ask "what the hell happened?" if these bills pass.

I've made my calls and put my words in where I can. Loosing 3d printing is loosing my job, and i damn well know its not just my job at risk.

Spend your energy and time more wisely.

Don't care too much that its unpopular. its so cool i can just flip over and do this.

yes, i gave it a wipedown when it was done. and no, i don't have room for an Xtool or anything. if i did, i wouldn't have bought the laser module.

the fan noise was my air filter going and AC. printer is venting directly outside.
