A/B testing tells you what won. It never tells you why. What tools are you using to fill that gap?
Conversion data is a scoreboard, not a diagnosis. Standard tools like Optimizely or VWO tell you which variant won, but they rarely explain why one version resonated and the other failed.
Heatmaps and session recordings show you where someone clicked, but they do not show the underlying motivation.
I recently came across Articos, which handles this differently. You can run variants through a simulated persona panel and get a report explaining the specific friction points.
The output is surprisingly specific. For example, it might show that Variant B won with pragmatists because the pricing section addressed their objections, but lost with sceptics because the social proof felt generic.
This seems especially useful for testing hooks or landing pages before spending a dollar on live traffic.
