To be clear this is music from a game other than the one being played.

I am making high-edit video game playthroughs, and I've had views suggest using certain types of music in certain scenarios, and I thought the same thing, but I'm not sure to what extent I can use songs or OSTs and not get copy right struck.

For example, in a fight with a boss and use a games battle theme (i.e. Pokemon battle theme) or an chill track for narration. I know some games like Runescape have copyright free OSTs, but I've seen other (granted larger) creators use sonic themes, Minecraft tracks, and the Pokemon battle theme, and still have ads on their videos. While I don't know if the creator is getitng the ad revenue, or If its getting claimed by the owners of those tracks, I don't think they've gotten a strike since the video is still up.

I just want to know what I can use or how to use what I want to safely, and googling it has come up with the answer that "its basically always not allowed" even though I see tons of other creators doing it, seemingly without issue.

Any advice would be helpful, Thank you.
