Series that become peak the moment the author drops the silly initial gimmick and locks In
Hot take. When the anime hits the timeskip filler would actually benefit the show majorly.
The manga is good but the most consistent issue is that it’s hitting all the plot points and very little between. The anime using filler flesh out the post time skip world would benefit the series tremendously.
I mean realistically with how it’s formatted you can’t have too much filler but a filler ep or two between the big stuff would benefit everyone.
We can showcase how the characters have grown more how their relationships have changed and how the events before the timeskip affected them more.
Sarada and mitsuki especially would benefit from a an episode or half an episode focusing on how they’re dealing with all the changes
What did each protagonist specialize in?
For example Basim is canonically the fastest assassin. Being so fast the animus couldn't keep up.
Altair outside I'd the canon scripted events never got hit or spotted.
Connor was a walking monster and probably the most physically impressive being a one-man army.
I beat the game a few days ago but I can’t get over how perfect act two was. It’s genuinely some of the best eldritch horror writing I’ve ever witnessed in a game. Because the entire things is the build up and the slow reveals of what is happening.
All the while never showing you the monster behind the curtain.
There’s this feeling of dread but also anticipation as you realize this isn’t just a sci-fi story it’s something that can’t be understood something that won’t let itself be understood and you’re seeing Arjun pulled into it as his character is being revealed.
I've read a lot of novels and a lot of OP protagonists and I have to say a line that honestly separates the good from the bad is the ability to trash talk.
A lot of trash talk is just one liners which isn't bad but doesn't hit the same. I think a lot of authors are afraid of the Mc coming off as cringe but learning how to properly write trash talk is an important skill.
That's what separates the good protagonists from the great ones.
For example Fang Yuan is evil protagonist but a lot of his personality comes from him trash talking in battle. Like there’s scene >!where he’s beating up his classmates for their allowance every day and he's just trash talking about how it's okay because he's weaker and he makes such a compelling argument the elders can’t step in!<
Hype moments and Aura are cool. But authors can’t be afraid to let the Mc be a little shit.
