It's a theory by Ryetoast who can explain it much better then I could but the basic jist of it is
William Afton moves into Edwin's old home.
He discovers M2 and F1ON4.
F10N4 asks William to help her reprogram M2 into David, but William eventually decides to use M2 for himself, so he creates a third Mimic program an M3 and that eventually becomes Glitchtrap.
Years later during the events of Help Wanted, Security Breach, Help Wanted 2, and Ruin both Glitchtrap and F10N4 now MXEXS are fighting for control over M2's body with MXEXS wanting to turn M2 into David Murray while Glitchtrap wants to use it to basically be the new William Afton.
Meanwhile M2 wants neither of this and wants to be it's own thing.
To let you know the evidence for Charlie87 I've heard before were.
The Help Wanted 2 Grave Order showing Charlie last.
The Midnight Motorist Car displaying dice that read 1987.
And Tickets to Fun showing Charlie in a page that shows Toy Chica 's bib
I would like to see other evidence that I haven't heard before.
The one thing these three have in common is that all of them are Neglectful fathers who prioritized work their kids which resulted in their kids being killed.
Charlotte was killed by William.
Crying and Elizabeth were killed by William's creations.
And David died while being left unsupervised at the playground Edwin made for him.
They also built things for their kids that were basically responsible for their kids deaths.
Henry made The Puppet to protect Charlotte but it failed to do it's jump and she got killed.
William claimed to have made Circus Baby for Elizabeth but when she went near her Circus Baby's programming activated and killed her.
And Edwin made the Playground for David and that's where David died.
However the one major difference between these three is that unlike William, Henry and Edwin did seem to genuinely care about their kids, and we're absolutely devastated when they died, meanwhile William was more indifferent about his kids deaths and was more upset about the embarrassment he felt about it.
