Can you think of Examples of music artists who were never fully mainstream but still had a lot of success and fans within their respective scene and then lost it with one album? A trainwreckord on a small scale.

My example is Natural everyday degradation by Remo Drive. While Remo Drive never had mainstream success they were very big and beloved within the 2010’s emo/pop punk scene and had a very passionate fan base and that seemingly all went away with this album. They just never recaptured that same level of success again and each album that came after just came with less and less fanfare.

And I don’t even think it’s a bad album but it’s clear the sudden change in sonic direction just didn’t keep the fans on board.

The hooks especially on this album I think are catchy and memorable. I find the lyrics emotional which I like. My favorite songs The Fire, The Dark, The Handwritten Letter and the Two Tongues (screaming salvation). I just wanna know if anyone has thoughts on this album cause I never hear it talked about.]
