Is it customary to provide a gift for a soon to be husband when getting engaged? And if so, what kind of gift?
For context he is Pakistani and the bride is Turkish Cypriot.

Is it customary to gift a soon to be groom a gift at the engagement ceremony or is the gift giving only to the bride?
Groom is Pakistani and bride Turkish Cypriot if that helps with answers.
If a gift is a good idea/necessary, what kind of gift would that be? A basket of mixed stuff or anything like that?
