Which distro to use for media playback
G'day everyone,
I'm an audio tech and I want to use an old late 2013 macbook to run music on for gigs. I don't want to use mac os because spotify doesn't support it, and it's too slow, so I want to run linux.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any good distros that could work.
I was thinking of just using something common like ubuntu, but I want to see if there are any specically made for this purpose that would be better.
I would like to send audio to the desk using a USB to MIDI cable, so it needs to be able to do that.
It needs to be able to run the linux flavour of spotify
Most importantly, it needs to be reliable. This is going to be used on a weekly basis in a church where it needs to boot up and just work. it's replacing an old iPod touch that's gotten too slow, so that's the level of simplicity at boot that I need.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
