Admission in Civil Engineering
My son has 83% marks and he is upgrading three subjects of grade 12. He has applied for Civil Engineering program in the Carleton University. Is there is a chance that he will receive offer of admission based on 83%?

How is the Concordia university for civil engineering program? Do they have a strong co-op or internship program? My son has received offers from York university and Lakehead university. I am also considering Concordia university. We are from Calgary.
Hi, How difficult is Civil Engineering in Carleton? Is the first year very tough as some of the people have commented in the posts? One person said that it is brutal. (He didn't say it specifically for Civil).
My son has received an admission offer from Lakehead University and is expecting it from Carleton too. What do you people say which one would be better for him? He is an average student though a hard working.
Can you please provide information on what average percentage is required in the first year of engineering in the University of Manitoba to get into civil engineering in the second year?
What are options with the students who do not get their desired discipline but desperate to go to that discipline?
The stated requirement for transferring from a Civil Engineering diploma to the Bachelor’s in Engineering program at Lakehead University is a minimum 70% average (either in the final year or cumulative over both years of the diploma). However, I understand that this is only the minimum eligibility requirement.
My question is: what average is typically needed in practice to actually secure a transfer into the Civil Engineering program at Lakehead? I know it can vary from year to year, but I’m looking for a rough idea based on past experience.
For example:
Any insight from students who have gone through this process would be really helpful.
My son has received an offer from Lakehead University for a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. We live in Calgary, so I’m also considering another path: having him complete a Civil Engineering diploma at SAIT first, then transferring to Lakehead afterward.
Lakehead’s transfer requirement is at least a 70% average (either in the final year or cumulative over the diploma). My son is an average student—not sharp minded —but he is hardworking and consistent.
I’m trying to understand how realistic this pathway is.
I’d really appreciate any honest insights or experiences.
Hi,
I am confused and needs your advise. We are from Calgary. My son has received admission offers from the University of Lakehead (for Civil Engineering) and University of York, Toronto.
I am not sure which one would be the best for him. Please advise.
