Only get good sleep when its really cold

I've struggled to get good sleep consistently for a long time. I've been doing a bunch of trial and error and recording statistics.

I've found that I can really only get my best quality sleep when its 14 degrees Celsius (57.2f) and I've since learnt that that's kind of weird and most people would consider that way too cold. Interestingly while I like to sleep when its this temp, when I wake up I do find it too cold and I will turn on the heater.

On days when it is that temperature, I can just naturally sleep in and I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. On days that are hotter I often wake up before I mean to (I've found 9.5 hours of sleep is best for me), and often wake up a few times throughout the night, and also wake up feeling slightly too warm for comfort.

I've got eczema which may be related. I've got floor to ceiling windows which I do think makes me room heat up a lot quicker (but I've moved my sleep so I wake up at 8 rather than 9am and it hasn't made much of a difference). I've used a handheld infrared thermometer to test my body temp and normally throughout the day it's mid to low 30 degrees (around 86 - 95f), and when I wake up Im generally around 38-39 degrees (100f) but I'm at that temperature no matter what temperature my room is.

I've tried changing blankets but in my brief tests it didn't really change much for the better, possibly because the blanket was too big for my bed.

I've been trying to get good sleep myself consistently for a very long time and it's just not working so I thought I might as well try and ask for advice/help.

Oh and I forgot to mention this all matters because my cooler only goes down to 18 so the only way I can get my room to be 14 degrees or lower is its a particularly cold night and that doesn't happen often.

I have a short course I want to do, offered by a university and costs $3k.

I am with an IEA provider right now and they say it's too expensive for them. They wouldn't say what an acceptable cost is but it seems their preference is free courses and they might not fund it even if it costs a few hundred dollars. I've reached out to other IEA providers and they similarly say they don't have the money for it.

Would workforce australia providers be more willing/able to pay for it if i somehow switched over? Or would $3k still be way too much for them. Has anyone gotten a short course through a workforce australia provider and how much did it cost?

I am an unemployed, recent graduate. I have an issue that I have created a system to avoid, and that works really well but only 90% of the time and will definitely not be suitable if I get a job.

The issue is that my body has a desire for a certain amount of game/youtube time and if it doesn't get enough it will procrastinate on sleep. Its not a conscious decision, I'm not choosing to put off sleep to play more games. I've found that this can be triggered by both working too late and also going to events/social functions (even if i enjoy them, which is weird) and staying out late, or even playing games with other people until late. Like for instance back when I was studying University, I would really struggle to go from submitting an assignment at 10 or 11pm and then going to sleep shortly after, I would always have to play games or do something else for an hour or two before I would sleep.

I have been handling it by avoiding it basically. I stop working/doing productive stuff in the early afternoon under the idea that if my sleep gets messed up it'll stop me from being productive the next day and then that will have a domino effect and so its better to do small amounts of work consistently rather than keep trying to do tons of work and keep failing and ending up doing less work than i would've otherwise done.

As mentioned, I do not think my strategy of avoidance will hold up once I get a job. And even if I don't get a job anytime soon I think it's probably time that I spent more of my day working so I can get further in life. But I have no idea how to get over my unconscious need for some solo game/leisure time and am looking for practical advice.
