My manager has been treating me poorly. The things they say could easily get them in a lot of trouble. I'm not the only one who feels this way, even ex employees. What do I do? Do I go to hr, but then will the manager find out? Will my job be protected or will it just go badly for me. It's effecting my mental health which is already bad.

For context, we are friends, we have a very jokey friendship and are basically gender opposites of each other. I don't want to go into too much detail just in case, but from a males perspective, what are signs you'd give her/ways you'd interact with her in this circumstance that would differentiate her from not just a friend, but a crush?
