Can't see/install Flathub applications in GNOME Software

So, since I've had my current install of Ubuntu (probably since 21.10?) I have been unable to install Flatpaks directly from the Flathub website. The URL correctly opens GNOME Software, but says that "it's not in a format supported by this system". Using the downloaded .flatpakref file, or installing through terminal works fine.

Upon further inspection, I realised that despite the Flathub repository being added and on, I see no Flathub applications in GNOME Software (and for years I wondered why the selection there is so bad!). I tried reinstalling both GNOME Software and the flatpak plugin, cleaning all the data and cache etc., but still nothing.

Any ideas?

I have a Nova Lite, running the better 4200 firmware. It worked great so far, but suddenly I can't get it to work via the USB dongle. The dongle is recognised as a device when connected through USB (and I tried different ports), and I re-paired the controller with the dongle multiple times. The green light is not flashing, meaning the connection is established - but it's not detected in Windows any more.

It all started when I changed the wired connection mode from Xbox to Switch on my other system on this PC. That only affects the USB wired connection though, and I reverted it back to Xbox. Works perfectly fine that way with Windows, I can also connect it through bluetooth - but no luck with dongle connection. Doesn't work on my laptop either.

Any ideas?

On my PC, I use 2.1 speaker system, connected to the on-board audio minijack. I also use a monitor, which has a minijack audio output over HDMI.

Sometimes, I connect my laptop to the same screen, but of course that way I have to rely on my laptop's speakers. I can connect the speakers to the screen, but it has limited sound enhancement options compared to the Realtek motherboard audio. I can of course just manually unplug the minijack and replug it into the screen, but given my desk setup, it's quite challenging and I'm just lazy.

What I'd therefore like to do is have my speakers connected to both the screen and the PC on-board audio at the same time using a simple splitter. The audio would ever only come from a single source. Annoyingly, it's very difficult to find a female to female splitter, so I was thinking of just using female-female coupler, and then a splitter. Also, annoyingly, the audio cable is built into the speakers, so I can't split it at that point.

Would that actually work? Would it work in stereo, and would the volume be unaffected?

And yes, I realise that there are 'proper' ways of doing this, but this is overall a very minor problem and I don't want to spend more than £5 on this!
