The other day I posted on ccw subreddit and I basically told everyone I thought I had a heavy ass Glock trigger and guessed it was around 7lbs. I bought a g45 and it’s my first Glock I’ve ever shot/owned. I went to the gun store today and got them to test it and I was averaging a little over a 4.5lb pull. The m & p 2.0 that felt half as much came in at 5.5 lbs. these results shocked me. I realized the Glock does have a much longer pull I guess you could say and the m an p was a lot cleaner. Is this what ppl mean by a mushy trigger? I’m honestly fine with it though. It is twice as hard to pull the trigger clean but I feel like if I can learn to shoot this then any other gun will be so much easier. I do like everything about the g45 but the trigger is….not that great.

Mantis x

Anyone think mantis x is worth it just for live fire? Really curious just to see how much flinch and or if my trigger pull is throwing shots. I’d buy it right now but seems like it be useful for a range trip and then I wouldn’t use it much anymore.

First off I don’t know if my g45 has a 7lb trigger but man is it a heavy trigger. I have a few ars and probably five striker fired pistols and my g45 has the heaviest trigger by far. I’ve read that stock they can be anywhere from 5-7 lbs. I’m just curious how much 5-7lb trigger pull makes? 5-3 is a huge difference and I sold my one pistol I put an apex trigger on so I can’t even test it but I’ve noticed I’m by far the worse with my Glock and it’s one of my biggest pistols. If all things were equal I would imagine it be the easiest to shoot. After 1k plus rounds and 1k plus dry fire I think I’m finally getting use to the trigger and getting a feel for it. Like I’m really learning exactly how it feels and how it should feel when I fire. It’s still heavy af and I have to be focused to have good shots with it and it got me thinking that if it was even close to my stock p365s then I’d be way better with it. I’m so much better with my macro and I honestly think the grips a little small. Jw from ppl who shoot a lot how much better they perform with lighter triggers, especially in the same gun if anyone can comment on that specifically. I don’t plan on upgrading or getting anything nicer until I feel like I’ve earned it so I don’t expect to have a new trigger or something like a 2011 anytime soon. Honestly don’t even want to buy another striker fired until I get good with this one.

Quick question. Does the slide seem to jump a little when dry firing? Almkst looks like your front sight dips down a hair when you dry fire? There’s def some movement in the slide and it’s driving me crazy trying to figure out if it’s me or the gun.

Edit: this Is not a question about if something’s wrong with the gun or not. The question is more so about if something is wrong with my trigger pull or is it normal for gen 6 Glocks to do that.

First shot I went for the center of the white sticker, every other shot I tried to aim at the first poi and I wish I would’ve just kept aiming for the center of the sticker because it was hard to see that little hole from that far. I know this isn’t impressive but I’m proud of this little group. I’ve been working on anticipation and I can happily say I’ve come a long way in the last week or two. I could’ve easily missed left to right because of the iron sights. I’m not that great with them, especially on a subcompact with the big tritium sights. I used a p365 original. Would shooting just to the left be caused by anticipation? Either way big improvement with this little gun.

How much bigger is the Icarus compared to the oem? I thought I liked the Wilson combat grip but I ended up taking it off last night and prefer the oem much more. The Icarus kind of seems like a waste for me since I just want it to conceal comfortably and don’t really care for the best grip, unless it makes a huge difference of course. Also will it still fit in a vedder holster if I switch to this grip?

I’m curious how many times you can dry fire a modern striker fired pistol before you start causing problems? I never use to dry fire because….i have a very addictive personality. I finally started dry firing a couple weeks ago and easily dry fire 100 times a day and that’s bare minimum. After a year that’ll be over 30k times. Is that a problem?
