In the process of remortgaging... is general advice to lock in for 2 or 5 years?

Hi all, I'm not super savvy when it comes to mortgage rates, obviously understand the basic principles, but by no means an expert.

I am due to remortgage in November. I'm looking to lock in a fixed rate, but not sure whether to lock in for 2 years and readdress the situation in 2028 (are we ancitipating things will be better by then?!) OR lock for 5 years at somewhere in the 4% region....

Thoughts from anyone with experience / expertise is welcomed!

Ex rebounded into something new 4 weeks after a 13 year relationship ended. Seeking comfort.

Hi guys, as the title says, my ex of 13 years split with me on 5th Jan. By Feb 13th she was seeing a new dude. She's been with him for 3 months. Found out via a mutual. They're basically in a relationship. Fairly shattering stuff. She doesn't have anyone in the way of friends, the friends she had were mine originally and so they retracted their support.

Shaken to my core that it took 4 weeks to hop into something new. It was the first guy she ever dated, they've been seeing each other ever since. She told me it was nothing & she didn't want a relationship, she even said "is it just a distraction?" to which I replied "it's called a rebound kid".

Pretty rattled. Was doing well until I found out yesterday. I cannot personally imagine giving anyone else my time in a serious manner right now, I've done some dating and stuff, but it's not really clicked & I don't want to hurt anyone or waste anyone's time. Just seeking comfort really.

BF % estimates & weight target

Hey, currently dieting, lost 8kg from 108kg. Hovering around 99/100kg morning weight.

Target is 90kg / 200lbs. Wondering what my current BF estimate is? I know it’s high, clear love handles etc.

Been lifting around 5 years but really been half assing it the last 2 years. Recently had a break up & it’s re lit my fire hence the desire for a recomp / fat loss phase.

Current regime is PPL & an arms / upper session.

10k steps a day, 2k cals & 2 x cardio sessions a week.
