Story beats, conflicts, tone, studio, and the like.

I’m of the mindset that they should animate Ace Combat 3 or 04. The bones are already there. Ace Combat has always been uniquely human-forward in its storytelling.

I think people’s appetites for cyberpunk-ness is still there; AC3 animated fully would be a knockout win. But Ace Combat 04 being animated would be such a beautiful, deeply personal story as well.

HOWEVER, an animated adaptation of the Ulysses crisis would be my dream. It would show events pre-impact and post-impact, all told in an anthology-like manner, demonstrating how devastating the Ulysses disaster was through different characters in different Strangereal countries around that time.
