Are We Missing the Point of LinkedIn in Sri Lanka

I feel like a lot of Sri Lankans still haven’t fully grasped what LinkedIn is actually for.

I came across a post where someone shared a photo of a person who had fainted, along with a story about how they helped. And honestly, it just feels off. What exactly is the expectation when posting something like that? Validation? Praise?

Helping someone in an emergency is the right thing to do, no doubt. But turning it into content, especially with a photo of the person in a vulnerable state, comes across as performative rather than genuine.

Not everything needs to be publicized to prove you’re a good person. Sometimes, doing the right thing quietly says a lot more.
