I am a normal looking 26 years old doing my obgy residency currently.

I am from a middle class educated family (obc caste).

I want to get married after completing my residency. My parents are concerned that after a few years I will hardly get any good prospects (in my caste kurmi) as I am totally against dowry, prefers to live in nuclear family, currently take methylphenidate 20mg od for my adhd and am really ambitious regarding my career and hardly do any thing apart from my hospital work.

I had a really bad day at work.

I am doing surgical residency 1000km away from my home in one of the topmost hospitals of India.

I have spent 1.5year of my residency doing scut work and hardly any surgical exposure.

I have no friends and my family hardly understands it as I am the first gen doctor.

I don't feel good at all. I feel super lonely.

I tried dating and even arranged marriage but it was super exhausting and emotionally overwhelming. So i have also given up on that till my residency.

I have adhd diagnosed 6months back and currently am on methylphenidate 20mg OD.

I hope in the end it is worth everything I have sacrificed and suffered so far.
