A casting idea I'm intrigued by would be casting an entire real-life family as characters for a future season. Barbara Alyn Woods, Natalie Alyn Lind, Emily Alyn Lind, and Alyvia Alyn Lind can all convey The White Lotus vibe well individually, so it feels right to have them together in a season.
I enjoyed Send Help very much, although I do think it should've ended just a minute earlier.
Send Help was a darkly funny, scary and gross return to form for Sam Raimi, with powerhouse performances by Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien. >!It had a brutal climax culminating in Linda swinging the golf club onto Bradley's cranium… and then it jarringly swerves to a sudden return to civilization with Linda becoming a celebrity, having somehow cleaned up the mess left in the mansion plus fully healed from her injuries (including a partially gouged out eye and partly scalped). It could've been a dream, but it nonetheless feels incongruous with the gory grand finale built up until that moment. The film could've wrapped up with her tapping Bradley out and still felt complete. !<
A good comparison for how the ending of this film could've been resolved would've been taking a few cues from the ending of David Cronenberg's visceral and disgusting The Fly. >!Many possible epilogues were discussed and pitched after Brundlefly's put down, but none of them felt complemented the film's tragic and despairing finish. Everyone involved felt closing the film with Brundlefly's death was the best decision for the film. !<Similarly, just closing this film with a violently hilarious flourish would've been best for it.
Further evidence the awards show has lost its luster is how they've been having difficulty getting in major celebs. In the 90s, a lot of major celebs were itching to appear to reach out and extend their fame to the young crowd. Compared to last year, where the major celeb appearances were primarily Nick-oriented stars (and the few bigger names mostly became household after their appearance at the KCAs, and not because they appeared on the show), while the ones who were major super stars viewed the KCAs as a privilege and not a deign.
