Crocheted a beautiful simple lemon peel stitch blanket and blocked by washing and spinning delicately in front loader. Then laid out to dry. As expected with super wash the row depth increased about 25% and the stitch width only about 5%. This was quite helpful as I felt the blanket was getting a bit heavy. (Used 4 skeins total) First time using non acrylic fora baby blanket. Now my question is- will the blanket continue to grow for the end user as they wash and dry it? And has anyone ever embellished a blanket such as this with some type of surface embroider or patch? Previously I’ve added a crocheted animal to my acrylic blankets but fear it may not work with this SW type yarn.

Just came to say that Purl Soho has again exceeded my expectations not only in their service and quality of their yarns but I love the little mini yarn skeins they include with their orders. The pouf yarn is a dream and when I needed to order more in the same lot they went out of their way to get it to me. Their communication is great as well. This is truly a case of premium yarns with premium service. Disappointed there is not a store front that I can visit to see and feel yarns and colors and staff in one place. 🙂

For all you moms and grandmas out there- what size is best for a stroller/carseat blanket. I want it to be portable enough but not too skimpy for use or as a gift. What is your experience in actually using or gifting these type blankets?
