Help: Only able to connect to Navidrome via some OpenSubsonic & Subsonic clients on IOS 18

Help: Only able to connect to Navidrome via some OpenSubsonic & Subsonic clients on IOS 18

-SOLUTION FOUND-

I have tried 5 IOS 18 clients for Navidrome, and only 3 of those were able to connect. The clients I have tried that worked were Arpeggi, iSub, and Amcfy, and the others I have tried, Yuzic and Substreamer, were not able to connect.

I have looked through all these clients on the Navidrome website, and nothing seems to be dissimilar between the clients that could connect and the clients that couldn't.

Though I was not able to connect through the web client on IOS, as Safari does not support HTTP, I was able to connect through the web client on another Android phone and a Windows 11 machine.

I would like to try out Yuzic, as the UI seems nice on their website, but am currently unable to because the client does not function properly with my setup.

In case it is needed, I am running Navidrome 0.61.2 natively (without Docker) with HTTP on Ubuntu Desktop 26.04 LTS.

-SOLUTION FOUND-

I redownloaded Yuzic and made sure to select HTTP instead of HTTPS, and now it works.

Help: Navidrome does not have permission to access my folder even though I gave 777 permission to the entire directory

-SOLUTION FOUND-

Running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and the latest version of Navidrome installed from the amd64.deb downloaded from the Github. When connecting to the server via my ip and port 4533, the app gives an error stating, "Scan Error: getting fs for library: stat /home/ubuntu/servermusic: permission denied: /home/ubuntu/servermusic." (My current user for that computer is named ubuntu, and the servermusic folder is one I created for this project).

I used the chmod 777 command to give every user full access to that folder, but it still doesn't work. I have tried creating a user named navidrome, but one already exists and did not change anything with the issue. The folder navidrome is pointed to in the config has one song with the aac codec in the m4a container as well as the same song with mp3 encoding in mp3 format.

How do I make my Jellyfin server more secure?

I have a brand new setup I currently only have one video on (as a proof of concept), and I would like to make the server more secure without locking myself out of remote access. I would like to eventually set something up so that I can connect to my server when I am not at home, but for now I just need something to make my server only accessible to those I want it to be (family members, friends, etc) and not anybody malicious who managed to log in.

I do not want to buy a domain, to use with something like NGINX for a reverse proxy, but I think that leaves my only option as DNS which does not seem to create great security compared to a reverse proxy, from what I have read.

What could I set up to make it simple for the people I want to have access to my server to connect to and also keep hackers out while not locking me out of remote access? I plan to use my server for things other than Jellyfin as well down the line.

How do I fix audio not outputting on a 2017 Intel Mac running Ubuntu 26.04?

When running the command "cat /proc/asound/card*/codec* | grep Codec" the 2 outputs are

Codec: Cirrus Logic CS8409

Codec: Intel Kabylake HDMI

I have tried to install several drivers to fix the audio not outputting, but so far nothing has fixed the issue. The device's speakers do work on the MacOS partition I left on the machine, but Ubuntu can not output to them. (In case it is needed, the device's screen size is 21.5 inch).

I have a 16gb USB drive I want to make into Ubuntu install media for my Intel Mac.

I have already made a 500gb exfat partition out of the 1tb available on that computer, and I want to make an 8gb swap partition and use the rest for Ubuntu's required install files and anything else I end up putting on it.

I have tried to create bootable installation media with varying levels of success using either Rufus or balenaEtcher. I have tried various settings in Rufus (version 4.5 on Windows 11) with the media always booting, but either generating many errors at the end of the Ubuntu installer or not even being able to load into the live version of the distro at all (but still being able to boot).

With balenaEtcher, I have tried an Intel-based Mac version (from their Github since the Mac link is broken) and the latest Windows version (from their website). Both versions failed when varifying the media, telling me to try again. I tried redownloading the Ubuntu ISO many different times, to no avail.

What am I doing wrong, and what can I change to fix this?

(I don't have an image of any of this happening)
