A party game all about hoarding the biggest stash of Bananas?! YES PLEASE!

Banana lovers! I need to know if this is a game that you would play? Do you like the art? Do you enjoy party games? Do you like smashing, snacking, stealing and otherwise sabotaging players bananas? If so please let me know! There are lots of Bananas for scale.

Bananarchy launches on Kickstarter on May 26th.

Looking for insight about where people find places to publish articles about their product.

I'm in the process of Kickstarting a Party Card game called Bananarchy. A lot of the sources I am reading about what to do next say I should get articles about my product published to generate buzz. So my questions:

Where do I find media outlets willing to cover my kickstarter or product?
Do people typically pay for articles or are their places to submit articles or press release information to have published for free?
What and how do I submit press release info to traditional media?
Are there any media places I am potentially overlooking?

Any insights here would be helpful as this is my first ever Kickstarter launch and I've never done this part before.

Help! Need opinions on which card art looks better?

I'm making a card game called Bananarchy and this is for a card named "Closed" with the idea that the Monkey can't get anymore bananas because the shop is all closed up. Which of A or B do you like better? Also please tell me why so I can understand your reasoning?

If you have any art critiques or changes I welcome those as well as I can ask the artist to make changes if need be.

For reference, if you want you can compare the art style to our current game art here: https://bananarchylaunch.pickupandplaygames.com/

First time creating a game in Table Top Simulator! Anyone interested in trying it out?

Hey folks! I'm brand new to using Table Top Simulator but I am very impressed with how easy it is to get things loaded up. I still have no idea how to share my game with others though or if it is even ready for that? Or really any idea how to program it. I'm definitely no code guru.

Still would love to get some folks together to try it out! Anyone interested?

Also interested in videos, tips, or advice.

I'm supposed to go on a Podcast this weekend to talk about my game and the upcoming Kickstarter but I haven't even really tried using TS to play it yet! Eeek! The game is called Bananarchy and it's a chaotic party card game where three to eight players smash, stash, snack and sabotage their way to collecting the most Bananas.

I have to create a Kickstarter founder video explaining my game, Bananarchy, and why I created it. I don't have any professional skills as a videographer. I have an iPhone a tripod and my laptop can do teleprompt. How do I setup the space to make it look clean and professional? It needs to be horizontally filmed and will go after our animated trailer.

How do I get a good background, good shots of the game, and make sure it looks clean? Would people recommend I shoot wider and then cut it in? Any advice or tips here would be really appreciated!

Help! If I can only print two of these Bananarchy play mats in our game which should I choose and why? I would appreciate if you rate them from 1 (your favourite) - 4 (the least favourite) and then share your reasoning!

ps. thanks to everyone who contributed to the previous post to get the mats to this point! Your insights really helped! Please feel free to also point out any feedback on these versions.

I'm designing a central game mat for Bananarchy right now. I need help with the iconography and text on the mat. I don't want to hide the images behind but I want it to be clear for the players what decks go where. Do I use Icons, or just text, or both, or none and just use outlines? Do I use fill or not?

Also what images do you like best?

Please help a fellow monkey out!

I always am curious what people think. Do you prefer to play games that have a random chance element or that it's all about player control and the only mistakes are the ones you or the other players make.

I'm in the camp of more control most of the time though I do like some randomness and trying to adapt to it. Where do you fall?

Recently I have noticed that there are a number of different opinions on what to include in CoGS calculations and I'm wondering what people think. Some context for you. With the dynamic global events and constantly changing marketplace we are revisiting our budget to try to plan for all the variables so we can know how much we can spend towards ads and still have money left over to make sure the product gets to backers without unexpected expenses.

In terms of CoGS I've heard it calculated in the following ways:

  1. Just include the cost of manufacturing the product. Nothing else.
  2. Include all manufacturing costs and then all overseas shipping costs but nothing from once it is landed because you'll charge that to the backer.
  3. Include all manufacturing costs, overseas shipping, and warehousing costs. Shipping to the backer you charge to the backer.
  4. Include costs to develop the product (art, prototypes, etc.) plus manufacturing, overseas shipping, and warehousing costs and also plan to cover a bit of the shipping. Then you are fully covered.

Also, do we calculate the CoGS with a sliding scale like a low cost, medium cost, high cost estimate?

I've probably calculated this about 100 differnet ways now over the course of this campaign and I'm curious how others do it.

Our product is called Bananarchy and is a Party Card Game that is not very large. It will retail on Kickstarter, depending on the tier for about $25 USD to $42 USD.

Design Gurus help! The Gorilla cards in our Bananarchy game all include special text at the top. This card is supposed to be a play on Guerilla Marketing and we are wondering which text you think is best or if there are any other ideas that could make this card more fun?

Banana lovers of reddit! I created a game all about Bananas and I want to know what you think! If you can spare a moment to tell me what you think of this trailer and whether this is the kind of game you would play the monkeys would really appreciate it!
