I'm a huge fan of rich/moody colors, contrast, and drama in my space, but the apartment I've moved into is currently the total opposite: beige/cream-colored walls, light grey carpeting, and mild, warm-toned wood. Along the way to DIYing it toward more of the example image, I'm having trouble deciding on how my fabric items/furniture—living room seating, bed sheets, etc.—should be colored to go along with (or tactfully stand out against) this kind of color palette. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

(For starter context, I very recently moved to this apartment and am still in the early stages of getting things organized and set up how I want it—mounting the TV in the living room, moving the pc monitor from the dresser to where said TV currently is, etc.—so forgive the slight mess.)

I'm a fan of rich brown hues in my wood furniture, be they dark brown like the dresser or a warmer reddish brown seen with the roll-top desk. I would like to contrast them with a similarly deep violet/indigo/ultramarine color palette like that roughly shown in my second image, but I'm unsure what hues would look best with these kinds of wood. (If it helps, I'm also considering staining all the different furniture to a more uniform dark cherry finish.)

My goal is to eventually transform the room into an elaborate maximalist setup akin to that in my third image (featuring cozy.goblin.gaming's setup), but with a focus on rich blueish-purple hues in place of greens. Would this work well with my current wood color(s), or should I pivot one to better compliment the other?

Edit: I'm more looking to identify a working color palette for the decorations rather than the walls—the latter will be sticking to a nice desaturated hue, whatever that may be!
