24 Years Old, Failed CA Inter First Attempt — Should I Move to CMA India?

I’m currently 24 and will turn 25 in October 2026. I completed my B.Com in 2024 and registered for CA Intermediate in January 2025. I gave my first CA Inter attempt in January 2026 but couldn’t clear it.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about whether continuing CA is the right decision for me, mainly because of the long time commitment and uncertainty involved. I’m considering switching to CMA India instead.

I wanted to ask:

  • Is switching from CA to CMA India a good option career-wise?
  • Is CMA comparatively manageable alongside a job?
  • Is it realistically possible to work full-time while preparing for and clearing CMA exams?

Would appreciate honest advice from people who have gone through CA/CMA or made a similar switch.

Failed CA Inter at 24 — Thinking of Switching to ACCA While Working. Worth It?

I’m 24 (turning 25 this October), completed my B.Com in 2024, and gave my first CA Inter attempt in Jan 2026 after registering in 2025. Unfortunately, I failed.

Lately, I’ve been seriously reconsidering whether continuing CA is the right path for me. The course feels very time-intensive, and I’m worried about how long it could take me to qualify. Because of that, I’ve been thinking about pivoting toward ACCA instead, mainly because it seems much more flexible and easier to pursue alongside a job. My plan is to start working in an accounting-related job while pursuing ACCA alongside it.

I wanted to ask:

  • Is switching from CA to ACCA worth it?
  • How is the scope and salary growth for ACCA in India?
  • Is it manageable to work and study for ACCA together?
  • Has anyone here made a similar switch from CA?

Would appreciate honest advice and experiences from people who’ve been in a similar situation.
