I can't believe how pathetic one character Lana could make of both Clark Kent and THE Lex Luthor. What the hell was 06x16

Not all things this episode was bad, like Lionel Luthor's hidden intention, turns out to not be so good nature despite willing to withhold Clark's secret, and now he'd also rather imprison Lana Lang after she found out. It might be my own delusion that Lionel for once did Lex a favor, guaranteed his wedding was a success and Lana Lang didn't ditch him (for now).

But my god, I cannot believe Clark Kent choose now of all time to propose to Lana, on the day of her wedding to another man!! I know this is an old show, but you simply cannot portray the act of crashing the wedding and stealing the bride as an honorable heroic deed. It's crazy that everyone including friends and family encourage it. And somehow Lana is all blushing bride and head over heels becoming the damsel in distress again?? Girl, I can understand not wanting to be saved any other time, but in this scenario YOU CHOOSE to marry Lex. Lex did not force you to be/stay in a relationship with him. You definitely don't need saving from your own bad choice here. And I canNOT believe Lex was so desperate to keep Lana, he resorts to murder and willing to give up Luthorcorp to Lionel so he wouldn't lose Lana?? Are you serious? Lex should be the type to kill for less, he should be a mastermind and loveless by heart, he would not give up everything for the sake of Lana. Especially after his vision in Lexmas.

And can I talk about locking Chloe in the freezer to trick Clark into saving her, just so Lana can confirm Clark's secret?? Wtf. How is that not as bad as 05x02 where Lex placed the Kents in danger in an attempt to expose Clark. But because it's Lana, suddenly it's all good? I find so much hypocrisy in this. Chloe never went out of her ways to suspect Clark nor tried to expose Clark for his secret, her finding out was never consciously done. But Clark was ON HER ASS about that, even before she suspects anything.

But LANA LANG, who's "in love with both men, Clark and Lex" should have ALLLLL the privilege in the world to know BOTH their secrets. Bruh 😂😂. So despite Lex and Clark forever fighting over "I get to keep my secrets, so stay out of mine, and I will to yours." In Smallville, this rule never applied to Lana Lang. She deserves to know everything, she always deserves to be saved. Everyone else though? They get their consequences coming to them, their fault 100%. I don't think I've ever watched a show with this type of character, oml!

This is my unpopular opinion (if I was Zelensky). Yes this will sound extremely nationalistic and teethering on the edge of authoritarian, but all countries forced into war becomes nationalistic just until the crisis and existential threat is over.

Meaning, as horrible as it is to force conscription on their men, it is a necessary steps to preserve their country. Without these sacrifices, there will be no homeland to go back to.

Brings me to my next point: American women in WW2 is 50% of the reason American can supply another world war overseas inspite of also suffering from great depression. Women they filled the massive labor shortage caused by millions of men serving in the military, effectively enabling the allies to maintain, and double the industrial production of war materials. Not to mentioned, over 50% of the US war expenditures were financed through tax revenue. To meet war costs, US implemented the "Victory Tax" increasing income tax to about 75% of workers, raising the top marginal rate to 94% by 1944. A working economy improve your chances in war. You obviously can't leave your country vacant.

Ukraine knows this, that is why they're now importing millions of foreign migrants to make up for the labor shortages. Can you imagine working so hard at your job just to be kidnapped off the street to die in a war, meanwhile your country proceed to imports foreign labors to replace the job **you worked hard to keep**, that you worked hard to pay for a healthy nation again. Labor shortages would never have happen if they didn't let go millions of Ukraine refugees to make said riches in other countries, and pay taxes to other countries. The damage of war might mean those same refugees won't go back to Ukraine post-war.

If nationalism is the only choice they must resort to, then they should've implemented a stricter obligations to non-conscripted Ukrainians to stay home. Even just staying in Ukraine can economically aid the war.

Hi guys I'm a first time watcher, and I've finally reached season 5 ep 1, so it would be kind of you all to not give spoilers.

I'm sure this topic has been discussed a thousand times over already, the inconsistency of Clark's age. Lex is like what, 24 years old in the show (maybe?)? In the first episodes, both Lex and Clark appear to be around the same age, if anything Clark looks a bit older Everytime they changed the child actors. There's a few dialogue (so far) in the show were Martha Kent and Jonathan Kent refer to Clark as young as 3; celebrating his 3 years old birthday and he cried when he broke something in the house. Or when Clark was in Lionel Luthors body and talk about discovering his power at a young age and crying about being different.

All these scenes proves Clark was either younger than the child actor they got for little Clark, or Jonathan and Martha purposely age down Clark to socialize him like it was his first day born on earth - which it was, and he needed it.

But perhaps Clark physically is as old as Lex around the same time. They are meant to parallel one another on many ways, I wouldn't doubt Jonathan and Martha really did change the age of Clark in his certificate/identification, for the purpose of raising him like he was just a 3 years old.

This is my head canon (for now). I'm wondering if anyone else theorize the same.

Hi, guys. Im wondering what kind of advice can I get from those of you who are experienced with talking to elders with difficulties hearing and developing dementia/Alzheimer's. I noticed my way of speaking is either too monotonous or some of them always have difficulty hearing. They also seem to misinterpret my words and one of them surprisingly keep taking offense in my attempt at conversation. Initially I thought he was just too private and dislike the idea of a new caregiver coming in obviously taking care of him, the idea of being babysat must be humiliating.

Okay, I'll let him warm up to me. Let him do all the talking and just agree with him, cause he obviously can't hear me. Well overtime he's becoming more and more grumpy with me, either I'm not responding good enough for him or he just hates my conversational skills? I can't help it, he's speaking mostly gibberish, I do my best to interpret his jargon but sometimes it just comes out as nonsense. I'm trying to be agreeable but its pissing him off further.

What am I supposed to do to improve my companionship skills? I noticed the other caregivers can easily lift up their mood so smoothly, why can't I do that? Is it because I'm not chirpy enough?
