Looking for practical toothpaste
I've been going deep into toothpaste ingredient lists lately and I'm struggling to find something that checks all my boxes. Looking for recommendations, ideally with some explanation of why you'd suggest it.
What I'm looking for:
- ✅ Fluoride (1000–1450 ppm ideally)
- ✅ Hydroxyapatite or another solid remineralizing agent
- ✅ Xylitol
- ✅ Mild surfactants only (Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside — that kind of thing)
- ✅ Decent preservatives (Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate)
- ✅ Bonus: Zinc (for antibacterial effect), Potassium Nitrate (for sensitivity), LP enzyme system (Lactoperoxidase + Glucose Oxidase + Potassium Thiocyanate)
What I want to avoid:
- ❌ SLES / SLS (or Sodium Coco-Sulfate as a sneaky substitute)
- ❌ Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891)
- ❌ Parabens (Methylparaben, Propylparaben etc.)
- ❌ PEG-based ingredients
I'm based in Europe so EU-available brands are preferred, but I'm open to anything.
I know this is a long list — I'm not expecting perfection, just something that gets reasonably close without being marketed as "premium natural" and priced accordingly. It seems like most toothpastes either have a clean formula but no fluoride, or have fluoride but sneak in titanium dioxide and parabens.
Any recommendations from dentists or people who've done similar research would be genuinely appreciated. Thanks!
