I dont have a proper source of income and my dad's friend approached my dad asking me for his daughter, in a typical arrange marriage setup, i dont know how to proceed,
i am an ML engineer, graduated in 2024, struggled to find a job and doing freelancing and whatever work i get to barely pass through, i want to get the nikah done with a suitable bride, but i dont want my dad to finance it. (i want to put my money where my mouth is).
My dad also asked me about my preferences? I have no clue what am i looking for, is it physical traits, cultural traits, career-wise or what .
Also i want to know about her side, this does not happen in desi-families, What are her expectations about work, finances, living situation?
I have been spoon-fed a lot and i dont want that to continue. I want to take decisions independently and be firm on them.
i have two options, either reject the proposal or get persuaded or better yet blackmailed into getting married with my dad's money. I dont want to keep the would be bride hanging in the air.
let's say i ask for six months or 8 months, considering the worst scenario, i dont make it then what........, I used to sleep just fine, ever since i got this proposal, i barely sleep.
