B751 C S : pretty underwhelming

I post this here because there are not many reviews for this device.

I just got the new B751 C S hoping to replace my Kobo Libra Colour.

  • What a shock when I started using it at home under natural daylight. The cold LEDS are incredibly blueish, making it impossible to reach a proper neutral white, whatever setting you try. It's either too blue or too pink.

  • Colors are significantly worse on the Bigme, even with the best possible settings (HD256 / contrast 33 / color 75).

  • The default reader automatically stretches the images to get it in full screen and there is no way to tell it to preserve the original image ratio.

  • Rotation is very slow.

  • Text recognition is abysmal (at least in french).

  • Some apps are in russian instead of french (Xpicture).

  • Connecting a bluetooth keyboard doesn't work properly either : my french Azerty keyboard is well recognised and set as french but it's still typing in qwerty.

  • Hardware is quite nice except that the back is rounded and make the device unstable to write on a table. It feels filmsy too, being very thin and not rigid enough.

I was hoping to get a more powerfull note taking device and it's just not as good as the more limited but incredibly more efficient Kobo.

On the Bigme, practically nothing works properly. It's amazing on the specs sheet but the reality is far from that and the user experience is just pretry bad. I see no improvement since the B751 C on this.

If you have questions, feel free to ask, before I return the device.

How to activate dev options on the B751C S ?

Just got a B751C S and found no way to activate developers options. There is no settings app with dev options in the Bigme app store ...

Hi everybody,

I got an Edge 60 on sales about 1 month ago and am very happy with it. Except the hires mode in the camera app is strange.

It doesn't capture more detail at all. It just makes an upscaled version of the 12Mp mode. Less pixelated, sure but without any interest.

On other phones I got before, the high resolution mode was actually much more detailed than the 12 Mpixel mode (if you have enough light). Which is the notmal function of such a high resolution mode.

Is this a bug ?

We all have seen quite a lot of advertisement for ReMarkable ereaders. Alas they are not in a good situation. They have fired 200 people on a total of 500.

Given the price of their devices, buying one now may be a risky investment.
