why my pipes leaked?

This is a new one. I have 2 cooling loop in this chamber, and I noticed one keep getting the pipe emptied.
I now noticed a lot of dirt of the floor, hinting that... water could be boiling in there?

The loop looks correct to me. and yet... something is happening.

Any idea? what am I missing?

and... as I was writing this post, it happened! I caught one live. a spill from the pipe, dropping there. in second will flush and we know there rest.

First time I see this, after million of cooling loop done. any idea?

EDIT: Found it. it was mistakely connect to the dripping pipe above. I didn't notice sooner as only occasionally the pwater was going there, namely, when hte turbines were not working.

Thanks everyone!

sonoff MINI DUO test: why the switch works that way?

Hi there!

I'm a very beginner, who is sperimenting into HA. I recently found the Sonoff Mini Duo, and test how it could work to make IoT my old house.

Here is a video of my test
here is the original diagram

The things I don't understand is why the manual switch works that way. I can turn it on, and nothing happens, but then when I press off again, it send the signal to the light.
In the same fashion, to turn the light off, I need to press the switch twice.
Basically the fisical switch is like a "push button".

Not sure if it's cause I bought the wrong switch, or that is the correct operation. if that the case, I should get "push button" for everything instead?

Not sure if affect, but the lightbulb is a smart light, cause I didn't have any other spare around, but in theory this should work with normal light bulbs (right....?)

let me know!
thanks

how can I make an automation to trigger if external temperature is higher or lower than internal?

Hi there.

Just got a nice temperature and humidity sensor (Ubibot WS1 Pro), and I want to practice a little with automations, since I'm just a beginner.

I'd like to make an auto that "if the temperature outisde is higher than the one inside - send a message to the phone to open the window".

This is purely a test. in the long run I'd love to plug it to the ceiling fan, measure the temperature of the double ceiling and the temperature at the bottom, and trigger the fan to move air around. But this is story for another time (when I'll have the fan as well).

So far, the problem I see is that if I put the ubibot as trigger, I only see "when temperature changes", and I only have options like "above or below" x.

on the other side, when I set up "and IF", I put the entity forecast, temperature, then it ask me to fill up "state".

How can I read the data from one source and combine to the other?

Sorry for very trivial and silly question, but this should be a good practice to understand how HA works

Hi Internet folk.

I'm back again discussing my curse of slow internet, which affect me since I visit a Pharaon tomb.

anyway...

I'm trying to close up the problem, and I think I found something odd:

If there is too much load on the network, my 5G network explode. The funny thing is, the 2G is still ok, but it is extremely slow.

for example, on my computer I only have the 5G saved, which measn, when internet collapse, I just lose connection for 5 minutes, until it reset itself.

on phone and other devices instead, it goes to an extreme slow interent, until eventually the 5G reconnects.

The question I have today, Is this a router or a line problem?

I have a buffalo router (this) and I've contacted support multiple times, hoping to get it fixed before warranty expired (now i'm out unfortunately).
It's no doubt that the line sucks. I pay for a 1Gbit, I get 400Mb/s out of the router via lan if nothing else is connected. on a real "life test", where there is few phone, pcs, and such attached, I go around 100 Mb/s.

Up until it collapse. I noticed that when my wife gets home, it often collapse.
Few days ago we were doing 2 call on zoom from different rooms and boom. internet collapse. 5 minutes spend on "can you hear me" from both me and her. (She connected to her phone afterwards).

But the fact that only the 5G goes down, and the 2G stay live, smell like Buffalo trouble to me, even though service doesn't aknoledge.

On the line side, I'm blocked. I live in Japan, and we got a line included in the rent, but it's a very cheap/easy going company. There is no even a webpage login.
Name is chintainet.jp and they don't even have support. they have an "inquiry" button that goes to sales.

So. I'm stuck. I'm writing this while I'm waiting for the 5G line to go back online.....

Hi there!

We’re renovating a kominka in rural japan, and we’re thinking to put it on airbnb when we’re not there. We still haven’t decided yet.

Has anyone explerience with that, and can help me with few questions?

At the moment I’m puzzling about setting an outdoor camera, which could be useful to monitor when people comes in, and keep and eye on the wildlife.

I never set one up, and as I’m checking online, I’m entering a rabbit hole of thousands of models, makers, functions and such which I don’t really care.

One of the key question is that the contractor who will do the power system is setting the typical panasonic doorbell, the one that everyone one has, with typical screen inside.
Is there any way to have an IOT camera hooked up instead? I know in us a lot of people use ring doorbell camera, for instance.

Thank you very much!
