I am just looking to get list of overall experiences when filing an amended return. I know the standard timeline is up to 16 weeks.
I am just curious what you all have experienced. I have seen some say 4-6 weeks, 1-2 months while others have had horrible experiences.
For context, we filed ours by e-file, after we had already received our original refund.
By any chance is there any new phone numbers or bypass tricks to get to a human? I have tried "account management" but they have seemed to patch that loophole. I have tried endlessly to get to a human today. No luck.
I filed my amended return on 4/16/2026 after we had already received our original refund (received in February).
Our amended return is fairly simple, not major just forgot to include an expense.
Anyways, my question is...is it common for "where my amended return" not to update after 3 weeks? I was expecting it to be trackable last week at the 3 week mark.
