"It's so easy to be great nowadays because most people are weak." [Story]

I let myself go for a few years and by December I had hit over 210 lbs. I know for some people that’s a goal, but for me, someone who had never been over 185, it honestly crushed my mental health. I didn’t feel like myself anymore.

Around that time I started listening to David Goggins. Hearing him talk about discipline, suffering, and pushing past limits really hit something in me. One quote especially stuck with me:

“It’s so easy to be great nowadays because most people are weak.”

That mindset changed me. A lot of people quit when things get uncomfortable. They don’t push the extra mile, the extra set, the extra rep. I realized I had become one of those people, and I didn’t want to stay that way.

So in December I made a decision: the 210-pound version of me wasn’t who I was going to be anymore.

Since then I’ve been in the gym 5 days a week. Pushing harder. Going farther. Holding myself accountable even on the days I don’t want to. Funny enough, I don’t even listen to music when I train anymore. I listen to motivational speeches and quotes. That stuff keeps me locked in mentally.

Today I’m back down to 184 and honestly feel better than I have in years. Stronger physically, but more importantly mentally.

If anyone out there is looking for motivation, just know this: you’re capable of way more than you think. Everybody has greatness in them. The real question is how badly do you want it?

Stay hard.

How terrible of a king would Viserys Targaryen be?

Viserys gets memed on a lot for obvious reasons, but I’ve always wondered how bad of a king he actually would’ve been if he successfully returned to Westeros.

Let’s say Khal Drogo actually agrees to cross the Narrow Sea with the full khalasar. Or maybe Viserys somehow finds another army. Or maybe those people who "drink secret toasts to your health” claim was actually true and tons of Targaryen loyalists rally to him once he lands.

He’s clearly unstable, entitled, paranoid, and obsessed with respect. But at the same time, the guy spent his entire childhood watching his family dynasty collapse, living homeless in exile, and growing up believing the throne was stolen from him. He’s basically a walking pile of trauma and delusions about destiny.

How terrible of a king would Viserys realistically be? Would he be worse than Joffrey?

Could Viserys have functioned as a decent king with strong advisors keeping him in check? Or was he doomed to become another Mad King no matter what?

Did Shireen’s sacrifice indirectly allow Jon to retake Winterfell?

We know how deplorable that scene was where Stannis and Melisandre sacrificed Shireen to the Lord of Light. Saw a comment from a post and was peaked my curiosity. You could see the scenes leading up to Shireen's death and how snow banked Stannis' army was, not far from Winterfell. The snow DID seem to melt and stayed melted for the most part leading into the Long Night.

If the snow had not melted, how successful would Jon and his army be at sieging Winterfell whilst snow banked? Or do we think Ramsay would still be bold enough to face them even with a blizzard blaring down on them? My guess is that Ramsay would hold up in Winterfell and beat Jon through attrition. Or maybe Jon doesn't even attack at all. How would the story change?

Dia mid laner new to support wanting to main thresh.

Hello thresh mains, I am new to support and looking for your juciest thresh tips/tricks. I have really been enjoying thresh playstyle and hoping to be "that" Thresh that carries games with plays. Are there any matchups that are just absolutely unplayable for you? Who do you normally ban?

Give me your craziest butterfly effect in the show.

Give me your craziest “butterfly effect” scenario that completely changes the story, and explain exactly how it would play out.

It could be something super small or simple. Or big changes.

Examples: Ned accepting Renly’s offer after Robert dies.

Oberyn surviving the Mountain fight.

Catelyn never kidnapping Tyrion.

Stannis winning Blackwater.

How far do the dominoes fall? Who lives, who dies, and what major events never happen? I'm curious what theories everyone comes up with!

If Riot were to bring back omnistone how would they implement it? I know it was a super meme pick when it was a thing but I don't understand why they just abandoned it so suddenly. They could of just made it so you get like an empowered version (slightly empowered) of the rune you were on.

Off-Meta builds you found success with?

Just curious what off meta builds yall have experimented with on Akali that you have found to be successful?

Recently returned to league (I know, probably a mistake) and I have been playing some Akali for the first time. Just here to glaze our girl and say she is probably the MOST fun I have had playing League in a very long time. Reignited my passion for the game. Her abilities and animations are SO fluid its just a very satisfying style, and pulling off a crazy combo just feels so nice. Anywho, that's all. :)

Affliction is getting ANOTHER round of buffs and honestly… I think this might be the one that actually pushes it over the edge.

20% to UA and Corruption, and 10% to Agony isn’t just a small tuning pass, that’s a straight-up buff to our entire damage profile. Every global gets more value, and rot pressure across the board goes up a lot.

I already felt like Aff was in a good spot depending on the comp you’re facing, but this kind of increase feels like it could shift the meta if healing can’t keep up.

IMO the big winner here is going to be Shadowplay, LSD2, Affl/Ele, or Affl/Ass. Pretty much any comp with good rot pressure. Also a note that Spriest is also getting some good buffs.

On top of that, the 5% bonus health increase from trinkets is a really interesting change. More health generally means games last longer, which indirectly favors rot comps since they rely on sustained pressure rather than quick burst. That alone could make these Aff buffs feel even more impactful in practice.

That said, I still think it depends on the overall pace of the meta. Frost mage and Outlaw are getting hit with a well deserved nerf, so that should also help with the hefty amount of RMP's in meta right now. If burst comps stay dominant, Aff might still struggle despite the buffs. But if games slow down even a little, this could be a big shift.

Curious what everyone else thinks, are we finally entering a rot meta or will these not be enough? I guess time will tell.
